sb10069478bp-001 Both of the resources that I passed along to you yesterday about Myalgic Encephalomyelitis, ME/CFS (Chronic Fatigue Syndrome), should help you to get informed about the illness and help you manage its affects for your child or in young people.

However both of these resources are inadequate to use alone. Yes, there are books, reports and lots of information on healing mechanisms that you can find, but nothing adds more value and long term help to your young person being sick more than an older relative or friend giving personal time, attention and interest to them in seeing that they live as healthfully (e.g. “full of health”) as possible.

That surely offers them the best chance to get well that you can facilitate happening. Go the extra mile and search for data and resources that take a bit more digging to uncover, but are likely to be the very things that will provide the biggest benefit.

Those people who know me know that I think it is ultimately a major task… this keeping the hope of healing alive in our hearts. We must do it. Our health depends on us getting this right and not giving in to the temptation of spending most of our time being negative or feeling terminally sorry for ourselves.

We are the ones who benefit from renewed bodies that once again remember how to be healthy, from minds that function clearly and wisely for the most part, and for spirits that are excited about the prospects of living a life closer to the Creator. Oh, to become a thrill seeker!

Yes, you and I do see the wisdom of keeping hope of healing alive in our hearts. However, the huge questions remain about how to do it.

How do we stay positive?
What is there to stay positive about?

What would it mean if someone told you that she was getting healthy with Fibromyalgia? Does it mean that she’s getting really, really well and no longer has symptoms? Or just that she’s found some ways to cut down on her symptoms and is feeling a tiny bit better?

Is this level of health even possible for someone suffering with Fibromyalgia? Surely the title phrase implies that getting healthy is an attainable goal. So I ask you, how does anyone feel good enough to say he or she has gotten over this confounded illness!??!

The reality is there are people who will tell you that they no longer have Fibromyalgia. Up until now, there weren’t that many of them or at least we didn’t hear about them. And the ones who did proclaim it usually found a level of healing through vitamins or supplements of some kind, which required a constant investment of money and time– possibly over a long period of time.

And the other people? The ones who improved, but you don’t know how they did it because they kind of faded away into the sunset… back into life and back into the workforce, never to be heard of again? How did they improve their health so much? How did they feel well enough to resume anything approaching a normal life?

Well, here are 2 answers, 4 tips, plus a video which might help:

For most people, how to stay healthy or get healthy is a bit of a mystery. We all are curious about health issues. Certainly we know that vitamins (like Vitamin D), health supplements and Young Living essential oils can help us feel better, plus maintain and/or improve our health.

Suggestion: put the term “Vitamin D” in the search engine on this site and you’ll come up with several informative posts.

But I bet right this moment you’re having serious doubts about any “cure” for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome or Fibromyalgia. No one has announced a full-fledged, unequivocable CURE for either condition!

And you’re right… so far.

Sick and Tired? Watch the Hug Song Video

by Cinda Crawford on September 15, 2009

in General, Spiritual Blessings, Videos

If you’re sick and tired, I know it’s not from getting to much affection or too many hugs. It’s because you’re suffering from Fibromyalgia and/or Chronic Fatigue Syndrome! And you have every right to feel very outdone that you’re living in such a sick and tired state. No one wants to feel pain and fatigue. No one wants brain fog or any of the symptoms that go along with these illnesses. Right?

Okay, then proceed by taking a healthy, positive step forward. Do something about your situation, even if it’s only one small, teenie, tiny step in the right direction. Choose laughter; choose joy by watching the following hilarious, good-natured video about a very serious subject, hugs, and the giving and receiving thereof. You’ll feel it’s very positive affects on your body, mind and spirit!

Dear One, we humans have the magnificent characteristic of being able to share joy, energy, affection and plain ole’ hugs with those who inspire us to feel joy. I hope that listening to the Hug Song video brightens your day. None of us deserve to feel sick OR tired. Instead we deserve a life full of energy, joy, happiness and good health. (Question… but how do we get back good health… How???)

75313666There are so many questions and concerns about the impending Swine Flu epidemic for fall 2009 and the vaccine that is supposed to curb your chances of getting ill.

That leaves you with 2 big questions if you have an altered immune system and suffer with a chronic illness like Fibromyalgia or Chronic Fatigue Syndrome:

#1 How much risk are you assuming with Swine Flu if you don’t get the new vaccine?

#2 What unknown risks are you taking by injecting the vaccine into your body?

People who are healthy do not naturally have lots of fear about getting sick. Yet in recent months, big government agencies and conglomerates like the Center for Disease Control (CDC), the World Health Organization (WHO), the news media, the drug corporations themselves and foretellers of the future have been bending your ears backwards and forwards about exactly that issue. Yes, 2009 is turning out to be a year when healthy people are hearing a lot about the wisdom of getting preventative vaccines.

However, the possibility of getting more sick than they already are is always a concern for people who live with a tough chronic illness like Fibromyalgia or Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.

*NOTE: When you put something foreign into your body, there’s always the possibility that that substance can trigger an immune system reaction and you get more than you bargained for!

However, today I discovered something you may want to check out.

clove News of the Swine Flu outbreak in Mexico is causing panic and fear in the hearts of some people, particularly those people who live with under-functioning, impaired immune systems.

Don’t let the news panic you. Be cool, calm and collected. Make plans to be smart about exposure, eating and drinking safely and well, and what you will do if you come down with symptoms. If you can, plan ahead right now to prepare your immune sytem to be strong.

But, foremost, don’t fear getting sick with swine flu. What you fear you attract. In the very act of fearing, you give such a thing energy and a better chance of manifesting in your life!

Purposeful Intention: Intend on staying well from swine flu and all such maladies. Intend on healing from illness. Intend on being healthy. That’s where to concentrate your thinking, plan your future and decide which actions to take.
Okay, let’s do that by making a short list. Decide:

  1. How (How you will go about avoiding Swine Flu or any other illness)
  2. When (When you’ll take action. Let that be now or very soon!) and finally,
  3. What (What you’ll do to be prepared and to help yourself live a healthy life.

Support your body’s ability to fight off any disease by using the best quality, best antioxidant essential oils.

I’ve mentioned several times about the “immune system” value and wisdom of incorporating Young Living essential oils into your daily routine. They really help me. And, as a health consultant, I believe they can help you and your immune system perform in a strong manner, too. You always want to be at your best and be able to tackle whatever comes your way, be that bacteria, viruses, yeast or whatever.

I personally recommend keeping at least two or more of the following Young Living Essential Oils on hand:

  • Lemon, an all-purpose, wonderful oil used to boost my immune system any time I need it. I carry one in my pocketbook and one inside my suitcase on trips- just in case! They travel well. (*I put my bottles of oil in ziplock baggies. When I open my purse, they’re easy to get out, and easy to inspect. I’ve never had a problem passing a security inspection.)
  • Thieves, for nose, throat & chest stuff. I was getting really stopped up last Friday when I recorded the Health Matters Show. I began using Thieves. I was better in a few minutes and totally clear in a couple hours!
  • Oregano, for stuff I’m trying to blast out of my system. It is one of the most powerful and versatile essential oils. It contains strong immune-enhancing and antioxidant properties and supports the respiratory system.
  • Thyme, because it is such an incredible antioxidant. It is both powerful and penetrating. Known since ancient times as a medicinal herb, thyme contains large amounts of thymol. As a dietary supplement, it is one of the strongest antioxidants known. Thyme supports the immune, respiratory, digestive, nervous, and other body systems. And finally…
  • Clove oil. Clove [Syzygium aromaticum] has a sweet, spicy fragrance that is stimulating and revitalizing. An important ingredient in the Thieves blend due to its wonderful immune-enhancing properties, its principal constituent is eugenol, which is used in the dental industry to numb the gums. Clove is the highest-scoring ingredient Young Living has ever tested for its antioxidant capacity on the ORAC scale.

Note #1: Please read the Disclaimer on this website.

Note #2: I recently began offering Clove Oil on my Young Living website. If you visit, you can read about Clove and all of the other suggested oils and health products. *I encourage you to purchase the oils which will serve your needs best now.

Over time I’m sure you’ll come to depend on them keeping you healthy and you can add some additional choices.

But no matter what, Do Not Fear the Swine Flu. Be courageous and pro-active instead.

Cinda Crawford, host of the Health Matters Show, a Young Living Essential Oils Distributor. I want you to be as healthy as possible!

Whether you have Fibro or CFS, simply learning more about the illnesses need not be your ultimate goal (if that means you forsake everything else). Why is learning not that important? Because:

#1) With honesty being of paramount importance here, let’s state the most true statement about you as a person with Fibro and CFS: You Want to Heal. You Want to Get Well! Plus, you don’t have the time or energy to read tons of research reports, drug trials or public surveys until your head hurts and you’re about to fall numb to the floor.

If you don’t believe me, check out last Friday’s podcast and the journey of one woman.

Now… whether you have Fibro or CFS, simply learning more about the illnesses need not be your ultimate goal (if that means you forsake everything else). Why is learning not that important?

Because of what I call your illness outcome. It doesn’t matter that people disagree about what causes Fibro or CFS (e.g. viruses, bacteria, body abnormalities, etc.) I know… that’s a shocking statement in this world of multi-million dollar research projects, but it’s true!

Think about it.

Unless there is some obscure contagious component to these illnesses and that’s never been proven, you may not benefit from finding out that Epstein Barr virus (EBV) or Cytomegalovirus Virus (CMV) shows up in a cluster of people. Or HHV-6. Or whatever. Such information may not matter at all because they are only one early result of your illness, not what caused it.

Remember: Western medicine does not have even one answer about what causes either Fibromyalgia or Chronic Fatigue Syndrome!

#2) It, also, doesn’t matter that you get your hands on the “best” list of expensive drugs, which may or may not help your symptoms or do anything to move you along the road to better health or to heal. That’s because…

This last year the subject of taking Vitamin D has come into my life several times.

The first time, my husband had a deficiency and underwent renal surgery to have a cancerous kidney removed. I didn’t forget the doctor’s comments about “low Vitamin D.” Hm-m-m

The second time, my doctor told me I was low in Vitamin D. Being a bit busy at the time and assuming the problem could wait until I got around to addressing it, I made a costly error. How? Well, I came down with reoccurrences of old EBV (Epstein Barr virus) and CMV (Cytomegalovirus). That struck me as very odd. I’d been well for five years and had not suffered with more than a cold or chest congestion. Heeding my doctor’s caution, I began taking Vitamin D daily.

And now…

Thanksgiving Video

by Cinda Crawford on December 2, 2008

in Living and Surviving, Young People

Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome folks sometimes have to muster the courage to be brave and look into the future with hopeful hearts. That is understandable because life with these illnesses can be very challenging.

However, all of life is how you view it, agreed? Whether you’re the most prolific and accomplished of people or whether you’re struggling to see your self-worth.

I hope you take a moment and step forward to watch a young man, 25-year old Nick Vujicic. I promise that you will be inspired. Later, check out his website Life Without Limbs.

In Nick’s words, “You’re beautiful just the way you are.”

Fibromyalgia and CFS: How Do You Feel Today?

by Cinda Crawford on November 9, 2008

in Getting Well

If you have Fibromyalgia (Fibro or FMS) -or- Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS), think about the fact that in your lifetime you went from living in a “healthy” state to, instead, merely surviving with chronic illness and multi-symptom, bodily dysfunction. You are sick and I bet there’s a good chance that you can’t remember the last time you felt well!

So, with a tender heart, I’m asking you… how are you really doing?

When putting your situation in such stark terms, the words probably sound a bit shocking, even if they are true.

One day you were enjoying life and -wa la!- the next, you weren’t. You began to feel really, really rotten.

If you suspect that you have or you’ve been diagnosed with the illness Fibromyalgia or CFS, being totally sick is that simple and that complicated all at the same time. You were well; now you’re sick. How can that be?

I encourage you to take a look at last month’s video that I recorded about this very subject. I know how sick you are and how you want to feel healthy again. There’s an excellent chance that you are one of the lucky ones who can do just that. How? Watch the video!

Let’s talk soon, Cinda Crawford

Most of us stay confused about which foods are good for us and which ones we should avoid. I count myself among you. One day a food sits squarely on the absolutely good list and then it’s demoted. Other times we think something is horrible and it turns out not to be so bad.

In this instance I give you sugar. Long, long ago we heard how bad sugar was for us and how the average American eats tons of it. (Literally tons!) The other day I heard a dietician say a little sugar wasn’t so bad. To me that’s pretty much malarkey. Ingesting sugar not only causes your internal sugar regulation to go haywire, it also gives your Adrenal system and HPA axis a real hit.

Plus, if you consume sugar and you have Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome or an autoimmune illness (like auto-immune induced arthritis), it will make you feel a lot worse afterwards. Sugar can increase your achiness all the way to full scale, total pain blowout, because of its tendency to increase inflammation in the body.

Avenues for Healing

by Cinda Crawford on September 15, 2008

in Getting Well

God provides many avenues to getting healthy and staying that way. He designed our bodies to function at a maximum level and He is gracious enough to give us special tools to heal.

If you’re a person with Fibromyalgia or Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, you may be pondering why your body doesn’t heal. Why is it letting you down?

The question is important and I’ll tell you why.
