What is the cause of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome? Hear this issue intricately discussed on the Health Matters Show with host, Cinda Crawford.

If you come down with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, the first thing you want to know is the cause, but how do you determine the cause when the illness’s myth, fiction and reality are all so obscure, so complicated and so mixed up together?

Case in point, most of us involved in any fashion with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) can recite the signs and symptoms of the illness by heart.

However, the issues of a cause and cure continue to be debated for more than the twenty years that most people have known about this illness. At this point in time, I refuse to believe that there is one single cause to Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. Here’s why… .

You and I, as human beings, are each a combination of mind, body and spirit. Our triune nature means that what affects us in one area potentially affects the other ones, too.

Traditional western medicine and research would like you to ignore that fact. They would rather that you assume, in most cases, there is only one cause and one cure for every ailment. Time has proven that to be quite untrue: e.g. the common cold is thought to be caused by a virus, when in fact there are hundreds of viruses that can cause a cold.

This type of cause-and-reason philosophical thinking often gets us into a lot of trouble. Its roots are nestled deeply within the sluggish bowels of traditional medicine, like many other antiquated thought regimens. To this day, doctors are still taught to think this way: e.g. cause and effect, germ and disease -or- since I can’t figure out what’s wrong with you medically, your symptoms must be psychologically based. In other words, your symptoms are all in your head!

We can hope that a more progressive, forward-thinking and inclusive thought process will be the norm one day, instead of what we have. As you continue to investigate the cause of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome in your life, realize that you need to come from a perspective of openness to the other two elements (rather than look only at the body): the other two elements being your energetic and complicated mind and your indominable, I-wont-quit spirit.

NOTE: Please don’t turn away if you come from the anti-CDC perspective. I’ve not crossed the line here and slinked in the backdoor of the enemy camp. Yes, the CDC (Center for Disease Control) has done a number on us through the years with their brand of so-called research.

What I’m proposing is that we go farther than ever, past the mindset of traditional medicine, e.g. cause and effect means germs and disease, etc., and into the new reality of complementary medicine. It can have an incredible role to play in these more complicated illnesses.

I’ll prove that to you this Friday on the Health Matters Show podcast, when we will discuss topics like the immune system and how it is affected by trauma -and- other inter-related issues. My guest Friday is Dr. Mark J. Funicello, DC.

For fourteen years Dr. Mark J. Funicello has cared for Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome patients. He practices at the Infinite Healing Arts Center in Gilbert, Arizona, specializing in Network Chiropractic care. Through years of experience in treating and interacting with his client base, Dr. Funicello has formed opinions and developed workable philosophies about what gets people sick and what gets them well.

We are most fortunate to have Dr. Mark J. Funicello with us. Be sure to join us at 3 pm EST to hear more about how our minds and bodies are intricately entwined and how people like this fantastic doctor are making such a difference.

There’s probably not one of us who can see or understand every dimension to the complicated reality known as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.

Thanks and see you Friday!
Cinda Crawford, your host of the Health Matters Show
