Hold on to your hat, dear one, because undoubtedly, this interview with Mary Moeller, the author of Fibromyalgia Cookbook: A Daily Guide to Becoming Healthy Again (revised) is one of the most powerful, thought-provoking interviews I’ve ever done for the Health Matters Show! Mary really shares some truly great information.

(Note: This is actually the second part of our longer, extended interview. You can catch the first part from last week’s interview by accessing the link here, but please do it later. I don’t want you to miss what’s coming up next.) :-)

Whether you’re searching for information and answers on Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome or other chronic health problems, often you can find good health information on the web, if you know where to look and who to pay attention to. That can be a significant fact in your search for meaningful answers.

At the Health Matters Show I try very hard to provide you with great sources of health information to help you re-make yourself into being all that you can be– healthwise and on a mind/body/spirit basis. I believe I’ve demonstrated the “health information” facts this week alone. (Feel free to review the timely announcements about Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, if you missed them. See the blog post references that follow and the comments to those posts:

What would it mean if someone told you that she was getting healthy with Fibromyalgia? Does it mean that she’s getting really, really well and no longer has symptoms? Or just that she’s found some ways to cut down on her symptoms and is feeling a tiny bit better?

Is this level of health even possible for someone suffering with Fibromyalgia? Surely the title phrase implies that getting healthy is an attainable goal. So I ask you, how does anyone feel good enough to say he or she has gotten over this confounded illness!??!

The reality is there are people who will tell you that they no longer have Fibromyalgia. Up until now, there weren’t that many of them or at least we didn’t hear about them. And the ones who did proclaim it usually found a level of healing through vitamins or supplements of some kind, which required a constant investment of money and time– possibly over a long period of time.

And the other people? The ones who improved, but you don’t know how they did it because they kind of faded away into the sunset… back into life and back into the workforce, never to be heard of again? How did they improve their health so much? How did they feel well enough to resume anything approaching a normal life?

Well, here are 2 answers, 4 tips, plus a video which might help:

raisinsYou and I can have some control over how much pain we feel at any given moment (e.g. pain relief) through the practice of mindfulness. I’ve written about this subject of practicing mindfulness this week and today I’m prepared to talk about it and give you some useful examples. Before you listen to the audio podcast today, be sure to get out your two raisins and have them handy. You’ll see why in a minute.

Even though you and I have suffered at times with chronic pain, Fibromyalgia or Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, as living human beings, we are more in control of our lives than we think we are. We make purposeful choices of what to believe, what to allow in our lives, what to eat, when to sleep and who to be friends with. We can even choose how much weight and importance to assess to the matter of being in pain and how we approach the subject of pain relief.

Now I’m not saying that you’re causing your chronic pain. Mindfulness, as a concept, isn’t meant to be that simple or drawn in that fine a line. What I do mean is that through practicing mindfulness, you can make a stab at (pardon the pun) controlling your pain… even chronic pain. Dear One, it is doable and today I’ll show you how to get started in using mindfulness as your own practice and healing tool.

cinda-standup-facing-left-to-right-sideview1On the Health Matters Show today, I’m reviewing all of the questions submitted this week about healing and getting well from Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) on the blog, on Twitter and on my Facebook page.

There have been some good ones, plus the comments are priceless. Let’s take a quick look at them. I hope you stick around for all of this week’s podcast. There’s extra special info at the very end.

Dear One,

Your healing path may be quite different than someone else’s journey. For just a moment, picture yourself sitting by the side of the road.

You’re hurting from Fibromyalgia pain and the numbness of unending brain fog.

Your body feels like screaming from the total exhaustion of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, but you’re too tired to emit even one sound.

Still, you need someone to hear your call.

Please help me! I need help…

Yes, that’s a dramatic opening, but these diseases are dramatic! I know because I lived with them for 15 years. Now, I’m helping other people… people like you. So stick around for this great information.

Thanks so much, Cinda Crawford

86000260This week we’re looking at Fibromyalgia symptoms and fatigue. Yesterday we talked about this from the perspective of a person who’s somewhat active and is able to do a bit of housework or maybe take a walk. Today, let’s look at those days when you’re less functional and you’re suffering with more Fibromyalgia symptoms like chronic fatigue. Remember: Cold weather’s coming soon. Let’s be pro-active and do whatever it takes to feel better.

Example: You’re not feeling well at all. You’ve been in bed most of the day. You’re bone tired and it seems like your whole body is aching. Some of your sore spots feel worse than others. A friend or maybe your spouse invites you to join him to go somewhere and do some activity. Your spirit really wants to get out and have fun, but you can’t contemplate how much energy you’ll have to muster in order to take a shower, get dressed and physically ready yourself to go out in public. You turn down the offer… to go… to interact with others like a regular, normal human being. Instead, you reply with some half-hearted excuse, roll over, pull up the bed covers around your neck and settle into your retreat once again. Very soon your mood worsens, your hope fades and you feel more tired than ever. And probably, you’re in more pain than you were before.

If that sounds like you, I’m not going to tell you to buck up and get on with life. I’m not gonna’ tell you to just be brave and suck it up. Half-hearted platitudes and sayings mean nothing if you can’t do it.

IS098R4MQWhen the topic is genetics and you narrow down the discussion to only Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS), the news has been scare… until now.

Today the NY Times posted an article about the 3 Americans sharing the Nobel Prize for medicine. They’re all from the genetics field. I’m not surprised. There is a lot of work going on in the genetic field. Lots of disease markers are being found.

(We’ve always suspected there were genetic connections to Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Fibromyalgia. Now, finally, more people are working in the field and coming up with what appears to be a monumental discovery. This could mean a lot. So what is it and how does it affect you or your relatives, if you have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome?)

Most folks know that when it comes to Fibromyalgia symptoms, this health issue is complicated, tough to deal with and there aren’t a lot of answers that actually help people get well or feel better. During the last two weeks I’ve been giving you my take on Fibromyalgia symptoms, what I’ve learned and some real tips to help you live a more normal life. Today I’ve gone even further.

This week’s topics are 1) sleep and 2) human growth hormone deficiency. Rather than go over all of the information included in each one, I encourage you to revisit the links to the specific posts above. Today I’m adding to that body of knowledge by providing you more great, useful data and resources to access.

Note: the audio of today’s show is listed below on the front page. To see the Fibromyalgia video, click on the “more” button and you’ll have access to the extended version of this blog post. It is an short personal expose’ on our health care situation and how we are all affected by what is going on concerning our health and the care that is available.

Okay, on with the Health Matters Show today and what you really need to know to figure out the confusing Fibromyalgia symptoms of sleep dysfunction and/or human growth hormone deficiency.

Send In Your Health Questions

Most of the time you and I hear the same ole’ things about Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. Now that’s not to say that there are not discoveries being made… there are. (Example: watch yesterday’s video.) But the types of things that are happening are not affecting our lives such that the scientists, researchers and doctors are discovering the answers that can help us “really get well.” Or, in other words, help us to heal.

Can You, personally, say that you’re getting well? If you are, you’re one of a small number of people.

Are You healing from Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, autoimmune problems, Osteo-arthritis, Multiple Sclerosis, Lupus, mycoplasmas or- (gulp) – anything?? Okay. I know that may take you a minute to think about, because the word healing implies that your health is much improved and as good as it was before you got ill.

At the Health Matters Show today, I’m suggesting that even though occasionally there is new, helpful health information, not much of it really moves illness forward in the areas of long term relief of chronic illness symptoms, improvement in people’s lives and/or how to regain a robust level of health. And, that’s the whole point, isn’t it? You want to re-claim your “good” health, enjoy it and finally feel well again! :-) Of course you do.

(Listen to or download the audio: 8 min 20 seconds. Download it by right clicking your mouse directly over the Download MP3 hyperlink above. This will save the file to your computer or I-Pod listening device.)

Now, none of what I’ve said disputes the fact that that there are fantastic doctors, researchers and health professionals of all types working hard on the front lines everyday. They put their hearts and souls into improving the lives of their patients and clients. I count myself lucky to be involved with wonderful health professionals, both here on the Health Matters Show and through Get Well Health. Some of them are even willing to join us and contribute in various ways, if they feel they can be of real service.

How? When? Where?

juliannekoritz-sizedforblogAs I interview Julianne Koritz, a top-notch nutritionist, for the Health Matters Show about what she sees in people who come to her with symptoms of Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome or similar problems, I am blown away by the reality that what we eat directly causes or is a major factor with many of our problem symptoms. Julianne confirmed this nutrition information and more– big time!

Apparently food reactions and food sensitivities are very common in people whose bodies produce unpleasant symptoms such as pain, migraine headaches, irritable bowel syndrome (a.k.a. IBS) and more. Listen to the audio below to hear Julianne and I talk about how people come to her for their pain and find the very help that they need for recurrent migraine headaches (and in a short period of time). They walk in her door with longterm symptoms of irritable bowel syndome and begin to feel better than they have in years. Now, that is good news.

Also Julianne Koritz shares an interesting perspective of how women perceive this type of chronic health problem as opposed to a man. These points of view are different and this difference can be an important factor in getting well.

Please, get all of the fantastic health information that she is sharing so freely. The second audio file is 40 minutes, 21 seconds and is only available when you register. See below.)

cinda-head-shot-small-lookingright1 “TELESEMINARS” are phone meetings, hosted by someone and listened to by other people who want to hear what the speaker has to say. Some teleseminars allow participation of audience members and that can make a presentation exciting, fun and interactive. Working together makes a problem more real and more applicable to your circumstances and needs.

I give health teleseminars on the issues surrounding the illnesses Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. Why? Because I have knowledge that I’m hoping will help people and because I decided to invest in this technology to reach out to folks just like you.

All too often we (a.k.a. the group of people sick with Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome or some other chronic illness) are stuck in the house and leading a pretty inactive lifestyle. To get out and do something on a bad day may be impossible. To get out on good days can be a mighty challenge, too. When you’ve signed up for a telephone teleseminar, you only have to find a comfortable place and sit down with your telephone to listen!

I get a legal pad, pen, a bottle of water and a healthy snack, too. That way I can sit down or lie down in one place and not be interrupted. I can take a lot of notes to help me remember the important information. Plus, it helps me to concentrate when I “attend” someone else’s teleseminar. I find a teleseminar to be a great way to learn new stuff!

200213223-001When I decided to lend my support to and make a financial investment in helping people with Fibromyalgia (Fibro) and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) fight the valiant fight to get well, I knew my venture wouldn’t be a walk in the park. It wasn’t and it isn’t. That doesn’t mean it’s not worth it or it’s not do-able. In my humble opinion, we are doing it together. We’re conquering the heretofore un-conquerable. So I say a celebration is in order!

I am choosing to celebrate by offering the wonderful people who attended and/or signed up for my multi-week Get Well Healing Teleseminars with some very timely, bargain-basement rates on Sacred Cellular Healing personal health consultations. Yes, that’ right.

As a special bonus, I’m cutting my prices 50% for all those individuals who unknowingly qualified for this offer just by signing up for the teleseminar series.

I told you I’d have something fantastic for you if you signed up with me. Now you know that I don’t kid around!

cinda-head-shot-small-lookingright1 Oftentimes, we folks with a long, drawn out case of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) don’t think about how our beliefs and attitudes about the illness got started. They just become an accepted part of us because we know certain things.

If you’re pretty new to CFS, you’re still developing your ideas.

Truth is… YOU may have an easier time getting well than those of us who know more information!

Now you ask, “How can I say that?”

Well, I do say it and I can back it up. I encourage you to sit back and listen to the audio and then read through this entire post until you find the reference link below for the full article. If you want to get well, this is worth your time.

relieve-itHi, I’m Cinda Crawford here today letting you in on a special interview with my friend and colleague, Kimball Egge, when we discussed how to successfully relieve Fibromyalgia pain symptoms and more. Now, the tool we talk about specifically is Young Living Essential Oils . They are really powerful health tools. (Keep a notepad handy because you’ll want to write down a lot of names.)

Why do you need this info? How can it help you? Because Kimball is a real expert who fights the good fight as a skilled massage therapist and aromatherapist. He helps so many people and is so giving with the knowledge that he’s learned. I marvel at what he knows and keeps tucked away in his brain. I’m determined to absorb as much as possible when I’m in his presence. I know you’ll feel the same way. :)

So let’s delve into the matter of exactly what is pain, how do we address it head on and what tools we can use to find relief from pain. And as you guessed, we’re talking about Young Living Essential Oils as the specific tool to help us. I find so many of these therapeutic-grade oils to be the best mechanisms for relieving pain symptoms and for encouraging my body back to health. I hope you experience them for yourself, but of course, if you ever have a question about an oil, how to use it or you decide you’d like to get involved in Young Living as an exciting business opportunity, just email me at cinda@getwellhealth.com and I’ll get back to you. It is always my pleasure.

Okay, now… let’s find out how to relieve pain.

MP3 File

Note: This interview went a whopping 43 minutes and 40 seconds. Every minute is jam-packed with fantastic and useful data. I highly encourage you to listen to the entire interview. I wouldn’t spend my time providing you with anything but the best. But if you need quick answers for fighting pain symptoms immediately, download the mp3 file to your computer or mobile device and fastfoward it to about the 35 minute 43 second mark. At that point in the interview, Kimball really spills the beans with some specific answers!)

And one more thing to add to your information about getting well…

Why I Fight Fibromyalgia

by Cinda Crawford on June 19, 2009

in Fibromyalgia, Videos

Fibromyalgia Syndrome may feel like a very personal battle, but as many as 10 million people suffer with it and I guarantee you that everyone of them wants to feel better! (I did everyday for almost 15 years.)

No matter whether you’re toughing it out alone with Fibromyalgia, you’re in a support group with others, chatting in a forum or working with a group with more national exposure like FAME or the National Fibromyalgia Association, know that your life, health and attitude make a huge difference.

I made only a very small contribution to the cause this year to honor Fibromyalgia Awareness Day. I hope to do more in the coming years. Please enjoy the following video that shows the success and hope of so many people!

You can make a difference,
Cinda Crawford (host of the Health Matters Show)
