What subject do people regard you as being the go-to person?
What is your passion?
I am not a doctor. I don’t play a doctor on tv, yet people tease me or affectionately call me “Dr. Crawford” sometimes.
When this first began to happen, I took slight offense because I thought they were mocking me. Later, I realized theirs was a good kind of tease and that they regarded what I do as being valuable.
I suspect that people call me by that term because, after so many years of being ill and figuring out how to survive so many different kinds of illness symptoms, I’ve gained a lot of medical knowledge and have a few alternative health tricks up my proverbial sleeve. I share them freely.
Plus, after extensive reading and researching about the illnesses that have touched my life and the lives of my loved ones (mainly Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, pain problems, brain fog, inflammation, gastro intestional dysfunction, sleep dysfunction and trauma-induced illness problems), I’ve become sort of a patient expert. (*I have taken some specific training on alternative health topics and I am an ordained minister.)
Suffice it to say that being a patient expert pays off now that I’m blogging and going out into the world talking about these subjects all day everyday.
So I ask you here on this Sunday…
What are you known for?
Among your friends, for what subject are you regarded as the go-to person?
When the subject you’re most passionate about comes up, how hard is it for you to resist jumping into the conversation?
So… today, be the expert.
Talk about your passion. Right here and now. Leave a short or long comment. Tell me and my audience about how your interest is helping you lead a happy life. If it’s medicine, that’s okay. If it’s horses and riding trails, that’s good, too. If it’s scrapbooking or knitting, explain how those activities are helping to fulfill your life.
And… if you’ve developed a home-based side business to help keep your family financially afloat while you’re not working full time, put a link in your comment of how people can reach you. Don’t be shy. Tell us about what you’re doing. This one time, I’ll approve comments for subjects that would ordinarily be off topic for this blog. *Just please do me the favor of putting a link on your blog back here to the Health Matters Show. That’s all I ask.* (Of course, common sense prevails. I won’t approve blogs advertising “enhancements” or other types of unpleasantness, so spammers be warned. I won’t reciprocate or approve your comments.)
Dear One, as you and I learn to handle chronic illness symptoms, we need other interests rather than just focusing on being sick 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 52 weeks a year or 365 days straight. It helps us to cope when our mind is distracted, entertained and happy with fun topics. It gives us a sense of accomplishment when we learn new things. It actually helps us survive.
May you do extremely well this wonderful Sunday, sharing what you know and leaving your comment.
Have a great day and thanks, Cinda Crawford
