On today’s podcast interview of the Health Matters Show, I am talking to Dr. Fred Luskin on the topic of Learning to Forgive and forgiveness as a health tool. He is widely published and researched on this topic. You can read more about Professor Luskin on his website, Learning to Forgive.
On today’s interview we discuss 1) What is forgiveness, which he tells us is “making peace when you don’t get what you want.” I found that interesting because surely people with Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome normally don’t feel that they are getting what they want: A RETURN OF GOOD HEALTH.
He explains how the act of forgiveness can help you improve your health and even your immune system. Also, he revealed information about a brand new program coming up at the Mayo Clinic that may be for…

people with Fibromyalgia, if the expectations for this program come to fruition. He promised to keep us informed. The Mayo Clinic is located in southern Minnesota, so you folks who live nearby can keep your eyes out for it. The Mayo Clinic will be seeking volunteers.
With this kind of mind, body and spirit approach to healthcare, this is a great avenue that you can begin to experiment with yourself. Dr. Luskin told us (paraphrased) that a person’s inability to accept a health situation or grieve the loss of one’s health often keeps them angry. This anger is not healthy over the long haul.
I urge you listen to the podcast today, pick up your own copy of Dr. Luskin’s book below and then be sure to clear out your calendar for September 20th, Monday afternoon. He and I will tackle this topic again in depth during a longer teleseminar presentation.
The way you’ll receive a notice of the time and phone numbers to call into this “free” teleseminar is by registering on my teleseminar list. (Be sure to register even if you can’t be on the live call. I’ll provide you a replay of the whole broadcast.) The box to register is on the right side of this blog toward the bottom -or- the top red box encouraging you to take this action. Either spot will get you registered and get you all the details. I hope you take a moment to do this now because everyone who is on the list will get an email.
*It would be great to have a lot of Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome folks present on the call or on the “free” internet connection. The choice is yours. Plus, each registered person will get the opportunity to pose their own questions to the doctor!
So no matter whether the discussion is about how to improve 1) by accepting, 2) by going ahead and grieving your health losses, 3) by benefiting from information of the Mayo Clinic program or 4) from whatever new topics come up in the longer interview on September 20th, certainly we all will learn a lot from this experienced professor, author and researcher.
for being on the Health Matters Show program.
