It’s important that you do a Fibromyalgia Reality Check, because… whose job is it to figure out what’s going on with you and to figure out the illness… if not yours?? Like the old game show, This Is Your Life we’re talking about This Is Your Health and your body. Both have been torn apart by pain, muscle aches, brain fog and countless other symptoms.
You need to get real about this and figure out what you can do about your symptoms not just endure them. Now that’s a real reality check.
If you sit around and wait on scientific researchers to tell you what’s going on in your body, you may never discover the right answers or, at the very least, you’re going to get the answers that “they” want you to hear. And, chances are, you will continue to be sick. So let’s begin with this newly-recognized job of yours.
To do this effectively, you need to…
Get serious, personal, and downright honest. You can’t be afraid to put all your cards on the table. When it comes to your health, staying where you are in a rut, stuck in the status quo with the current thinking that abounds today… is frankly getting you nowhere, but sick, sick, and more sick.
Dr. Mike Funicello and I talked about this issue in a round about way last week, namely that you can’t be afraid of getting involved with your health, if you want to feel better. Getting well -or not getting well- is oftentimes your choice! Let me explain this line of thinking a bit more. *For even more detail, click on the blue hyperlink above. Instead of concentrating solely on your physical deficits and needs, begin to listen to the voice within you that whispers a new awareness and hints at what is right or what is wrong for you. (Now, it must be “new” information, because the old stuff wasn’t getting you anywhere!)
Paid a little attention, that inner wisdom may expose what your current health deficits are and how your health problems are really affecting your life. Taking the time to listen to “you” and the whisperings of your heart can be a powerfully changing experience, if you let it. Those whisperings can tell you a lot about your illness and how you’re supposed to get well.
Listening to them and acting positively upon what you discover can help you navigate around this “ill health” rut you’re in. They can move you in the direction of uncovering your most powerful innate knowledge and wisdom of how to reverse Fibromyalgia and how to get well. And, dear one, when that happens, you will have already begun to change to living on the plus side of your health economy once again. Your reality check will be more awesome than any reality show on television… that’s for sure!
Hint… the wisdom and healing that you seek may or may not be a slow and gradual process, but the postive end results are worth your effort. At least you will be moving forward. If you want the process to go faster, consider getting someone to help you.
We’ll talk about this issue more Thursday in the blog post, Your Mind Body Spirit: Get Healthy Again. In the meantime on Wednesday, those of you suffering with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, I invite you to give yourself a Chronic Fatigue Reality Check. Please join us.
See you then,
Cinda Crawford, host of the Health Matters Show
