Chronic Fatigue Reality Check

in Announcements,Chronic Fatigue Syndrome,What do you do if you're really sick?

For someone suffering with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS), a really, revealing reality check would not only include looking at what we know about symptoms, but also figuring out how to reverse the illness and how to get well.

The whole thing sounds like a whoppingly big task and it is, as evidenced by all of the back and forth controversy around issues like the XMRV retrovirus research. But hang in here just a minute, because there’s more to this.

Before you can even think of getting better, you must figure out what your body is lacking and what it needs to perform at its best again. (If your mind/body/spirit had everything it needed perfectly, you wouldn’t be ill.)

Most people suffering with CFS find such a comprehensive task too daunting to attempt. They exhibit signs of immune, endocrine, neurological abnormalities and more. They are too tired and too sick. But we’re not speaking of the specific things that are amiss. What we’re talking about looking at today are the big heading items: What’s Wrong With Me, What Can I Do About the Illness, etc. Luckily, it is not impossible at all to examine such issues and I’ll tell you why…

REALITY CHECK- FACT #1: If the human body is healthy and functioning at a 100% level, it would never get sick in the first place.

REALITY CHECK- FACT #2: God created your body with the capacity to heal itself and be healthy. (We see proof of this everyday when two people are exposed to the same bacteria or virus. One person stays well, but the other gets sick. So why does the one body heal, but the other one does not? What makes this difference? It has to be the reaction the sick person gets when exposed. His body succumbs to infection. Why does he get sick?)

YOUR PERSONAL REALITY CHECK: Okay. That makes sense if someone is already healthy, but I’m not. I am sick with chronic fatigue, meaning my body is far from functioning properly. So what parts of me must be improved to get my health back to that nebulous 100% level? And is that even possible?

REAL WORLD ANSWERS: There are always things you can do to get healthier and edge closer to that seemingly impossible 100% level. Your job is to figure out what these things are and find a way to do them.

Tomorrow’s blog post, Your Mind Body Spirit: Get Healthy Again will reveal some good answers and then Friday on the Health Matters Show podcast, Dr. Mike Funicello will help us out even more. Be sure to return here Thursday and Friday. See you then!
