We’ve been talking about brain fog and how it affects the lives of those who suffer with Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. On the blog and podcast today, I’m featuring Dr. Lawrence Wilson, who states that brain fog by itself is a very common condition. He lists such causes as physical, biochemical, emotional and spiritual.
Then he gets more specific with the following causes:
1: Toxic levels of metals and chemicals affecting the brain
2: Bowel toxicity
3: Electromagnetic toxicity
4: Adrenal (gland) burnout
I find the term adrenal burnout to be a really interesting phrase. Look at the words: adrenal, burnout. That’s really expressive because that’s what it feels like! You’re burned up, used, spent. One form of this type of burnout is found in an HPA (hypothalamus pituitary adrenal axis) imbalance. It’s a common problem for people with Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. As well as the term adrenal burnout, you often hear the term adrenal fatigue, too. If you have symptoms of adrenal fatigue and seek out the right type of alternative health consultant, like me, your condition may be able to be corrected and then balance restored.TIP: One thing you can do to improve your health right now right now is to choose to live a more conscious and mindful lifestyle -and- maintain a relaxed atmosphere around you.
If you’re sick, suffering and feeling a bit desperate, this can be difficult to achieve because you’re already struggling to keep a whole lot of proverbial plates in the air. You can’t do any more! Think of the old frantic juggler with an impossible task of attempting to spin ten or fifteen plates at one time. Down goes a plate here… a plate there. Soon he ends up with a mess on the floor.
Carrying this comparison one step further, let’s say that that juggler is you. You’re juggling work, home family, symptoms, money challenges, doctors, insurance and more. That essentially translates such that you are terribly sick and have no idea about which way to turn to get better. You’re suffering from burn out and you can’t think through or develop a plan to live, much less a plan to get well and heal from Fibromyalgia or Chronic Fatigue Syndrome without some specifically targeted help!
Today’s audio file is 21 minutes, 46 seconds long and it’s packed with information. Listen on this website by clicking the right-facing arrow or feel free to download the file at will. This podcast is yours free of charge!
5: Candida albicans infection
6: Hypoglycemia
7: Food or chemical allergies
8: Pharmaceutical and other drugs
*I’ve talked about the dangers of prescription drugs a lot, just yesterday supplying you with up-to-date research on Neurontin (Gabapentin). Everytime you put anything into your body, food, drink or prescription drugs, the substance always has the possibility of causing you an untoward reaction. Certainly you want the good reactions because you hope that by ingesting this substance, you’ll feel better. What you don’t count on are the unknown and unpredictable side effects, which can change constantly depending on a) what is occurring inside your body at that moment, and b) what other substances that the prescription drugs cross-react with and cause more confusion and possible internal danger. Remember: every part of you can react and cross-react with every other substance that you encounter.
9: Nutrient deficiencies
10: Lack of grounding; overstimulation; constant distraction
When I was so sick, I found overstimulation by itself added to my symptoms of brain fog. Because of my hyper-sensitivity to noise, lights and touch, I would feel overwhelmed. This effect often compounded for me and I would think even less clearly than before. Add any degree of stress and I might end up with a full-blown headache with a side order of panic!
11: Brain parasites
There are quite a few brain parasites, but I bet the most common one you’ve heard of is the spirochete that “causes” Lyme Disease. It is divided into 3 genospecies, Borrelia burgdorferi, Borrelia garinii and Borrelia afzelii.
Know that Lyme disease mimics other diseases and pathologies and is highly variable in its presentation. In some persons the rash never forms; in some, the first and only sign of Lyme disease is arthritis, and in others, nervous system problems are the only evidence of Lyme disease. There is an increasing and alarming number of reports of neuropsychiatric effects associated with Lyme Disease.
12: Psychological causes
In doing the complete healing work that I do personally for my clients, Sacred Cellular Healing, I find that the psychological problems and causes of brain fog make getting well that much tougher. If you’re suffering and sick, it’s difficult to think through the process of what’s right or wrong for you, what’s in your best interest, or how to accomplish what you really want to do most of all: Get Well. I’m happy to help you reason through this. Feel free to email me cinda (at) getwellhealth.com with your questions or to schedule a free 15-minute consultation. It would be my pleasure.
13: Chronic infections
Now we’ve all heard or experienced some of the chronic infections that keep rearing their heads over and over: Epstein Barr virus (EBV), Cytomegalovirus (CMV), other herpes viruses and many bacterial infections, like recurring pneumonia or sinus problems. Why don’t they ever leave us for good? What is going on in the body? Why can’t it regulate itself to work properly again?
In light of those wonderful questions and some of the other topics I’ve left unadressed here like a) food or chemical allergies and b) nutrient deficiencies, I’m preparing not only more blog entries and podcast shows, but also the next set of teleseminars with you in mind. I invite you to go to the top right section of the Health Matters Show website and sign up today so that you’ll receive a notice about them. I’ll send out the information as soon as I have it together and you can mark your schedule accordingly. It will be “free” and it will be good! Plus, there just might be more than one teleseminar available. Stay tuned and find out!
Either during the telseminars or maybe before if I can get enough pre-planning done, we also will look at the psychological causes of brain fog a bit more. That is a critical area because what you think in your conscious mind has an excellent chance of showing up in your life.
*If you’re thinking negatively, that is manifesting your future in the worst way. Instead, choose to manifest positive circumstances, like creating total healing in your life. And know that if you get to the point where you can think clearly and plan your healing with a spiritually aware and pure heart, then anything is possible, dear one. It is very possible for you to clear up brain fog and every other symptom of Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome once and for all.
Now, aren’t you curious about how to do that?
Thanks, Cinda Crawford
