Just a few days ago, Dr. Judy Mikovitz made a lengthy presentation about XMRV, the suspected new retrovirus and possible causal agent for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. The HHV-6 Foundation and ProHealth.com sponsored this event.

Here is the free link to the video, plus there are several other videos on Vimeo concerning this subject of XMRV research. The videos are a bit hard to hear, but they’re worth your time in viewing them. Turn up your speakers and listen -or- mark them to come back to later.

Hopefully, the major questions about the connection between XMRV and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome are not going away anytime soon because researchers will thoroughly investigate them and the long term health implications.

I’m looking forward to solid, verifiable data and I think we’re going to get it. Thank goodness for brave researchers like Dr. Judy Mikovitz and the people and organizations that support her like the HHV-6 Foundation and ProHealth.com!

Thanks, Cinda Crawford

gardasilAs you probably know, the vaccine, prescription drug Gardasil, produced by Merck, is advertised in the medical marketplace to help guard against someone contracting HPV (Human Papillomavirus), which can cause cervical cancer and other outcomes. The vaccine has been marketed and recommended for girls as young as age nine.

It’s been a few months since I blogged about Gardasil, but it’s time again. I (and a lot of other people) believe that so many vaccines in our systems may set us up for immune system dysregulation and confusion. And when the subject, immune system dysregulation comes up, I’m ripe and ready to listen to what can cause such an occurrence. I lived with it most of my life and I can’t imagine doing anything further to cause dysregulation of my immune system! (The latest occurrence was a terrificly tough case of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS).)

FACT: Every vaccine and every prescription drug that you put into your body has the chance to negatively impact your immune system! And you never know what that impact will be.

That’s why I do not take a prescription drug unless absolutely necessary. I first look for alternative health means to solve my problems.

Since my last post about Gardasil, I’ve found a lot more information. I’m trying not to repeat myself, so be sure to put the term “Gardasil” in the search engine on this website to read my past posts. Now, here are the additional resources:

picofyogadvdThis time of year we’re all looking for ways to meet our new year’s resolutions and fitness and nutrition DVDs may be a way to help us accomplish our goals of having and using the best health information. Amazon.com is now making a special deal until January 24th. They’re featuring special ones at

Click the Amazon.com link above. You’ll find great deals.

I confess that I like to shop places like Amazon.com because that means I don’t have to make so many trips away from home. Just like you, I have a lot of “things to do” and not having to pound the pavement in the shopping center really appeals to me! It’s one of my little secrets for conserving time and energy that allow me to get a lot of “stuff” done! Do you remember me talking about Dr. Charles Lapp’s suggestion of using the envelope method for managing you daily energy quotient? If you don’t, check it out.

.
In the end, it doesn’t matter whether you must stay close to home because of health reasons or you simply choose to shop from the comfort of your home computer or Internet-ready telephone, this is an excellent way to make good use of your time and energy. We all must be smart and save our energy dollars as well as our physical dollars for what really counts… the goal of getting well!

Plus, with time and energy at a premium, I encourage you to take a look at this offer and make sure you’re not missing something that you’ll kick yourself in the pants for not having taken advantage of a month from now. :-)

Learning through Fibromyalgia Videos

by Cinda Crawford on January 7, 2010

in Fibromyalgia, Videos

youngwomanandvideocameraRecently a fellow blogger, FibroMama, put out a post concerning her desire to put together a set of Fibromyalgia videos about “the real facts” about living with the illness. Here’s the link to her website and blog. Visit her blog and leave a comment.

I find it really commendable that she would take the time to pursue making videos like this because:

Number one, such a project is a lot of work.

Number two, it’s takes a lot of thought and caring about other people to make a good video project appealing and valuable.

If she accomplishes her goal, I hope she lets me know so that I can refer you back to her website and Fibromyalgia videos. In the meantime, I urge you to leave your comments here at the Health Matters Show on this topic. Name and list the video links that you think are the most valuable ones on the Internet. People always want to know what other people consider truly beneficial and helpful information.

Also, you even can leave a note/comment here about what types of information you’d like to see covered in such videos. It’s true that Fibromyalgia videos are a great way to get the word out about the illness, how tough it is to deal with and how other people are successfully handling Fibromyalgia symptoms. However, it’s sometimes rare to find really useful information that helps you learn what you need to know to get past the illness and get on with your life.

Best wishes & don’t forget to leave your comments!

A Spirit Filled Christmas

by Cinda Crawford on December 25, 2009

in Health Matters Shows, Videos

Original Video- More videos at TinyPic

Christmas is a time of wonder, magnificence, peace and hope for all mankind. May you find those attributes in a song, in a prayer, a friend’s tenderness or a special prayer this holiday season. May you find the spirit and reason why all this is so important. May you find the strength to lead brave lives and contribute the best that you have to give to the world. You may not have great talent or you may be busting at the seams with a multitude of gifts, but the key is in how you use your talent.

I pray that you will have the best and merriest Christmas. Please enjoy Andrea Bocelli and the Mormon Tabernacle choir in an outstanding rendition of the Lord’s Prayer.

God bless you,
Cinda Crawford

lupusresearchupdateThere are folks who not only have Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, but some also have Lupus, too. That can add up to a lot of very unpleasant symptoms.

Now it’s not my intention to educate you on Lupus, because you can surely find great resources yourself.

But some of you may not know about what’s being done within the Lupus community. Recently a new funding appropriations bill was approved by Congress, increasing the funding for the illness. Find out all the latest scoop at the Science Blog by the Lupus Foundation.

This bill will now be sent to the President for his signature. On behalf of the Lupus Foundation of America and people with lupus, thank you for making your voices heard!

If you are interested in making your voice heard in person for Fiscal Year 2011 lupus priorities, please join with us on Capitol Hill March 15-16, 2010 for the Lupus Foundation of America’s Advocacy Day!

cinda-standup-facing-left-to-right-sideviewAs I write this blog post today, I have to confess that I’m really stressed, yet trying hard to keep up every commitment and every goal for the approaching holidays and for my self-committed responsibilities to maintaining the Health Matters Show. Why you ask? Because life happens and we never want to “not do” what’s important to us or what we’ve already promised to do.

Case in point, take this week’s subjects: a) being sick all over with Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, b) how and why the body gets so confused about how to heal and c) the holistic healing and health answers for improving your health.

This week my husband hurt his back badly. We’ve been to the emergency room twice in four days. He’s on high-powered drugs… and he can’t drive safely. So I’m not only playing nursemaid, but chauffeur. My time and energy have not been my own. Thank goodness I’m well enough now to do that. Way back when I was so sick, that would not have been the case.

Those people who know me know that I think it is ultimately a major task… this keeping the hope of healing alive in our hearts. We must do it. Our health depends on us getting this right and not giving in to the temptation of spending most of our time being negative or feeling terminally sorry for ourselves.

We are the ones who benefit from renewed bodies that once again remember how to be healthy, from minds that function clearly and wisely for the most part, and for spirits that are excited about the prospects of living a life closer to the Creator. Oh, to become a thrill seeker!

Yes, you and I do see the wisdom of keeping hope of healing alive in our hearts. However, the huge questions remain about how to do it.

How do we stay positive?
What is there to stay positive about?

When it comes to Fibromyalgia, you and I probably have mixed feelings, truly mixed… actually all around the block on some very complicated issues, such as:

What is Fibromyalgia?
How do I get over it?
What is so special about being sick with this illness that it garners such a prominent place in my life?

ningxiared-1bottleWhen I’m considering how to get healthy and stay that way, I think how smart it is to include some of nature’s most perfect plants as part of my health regimen, namely Ningxia wolfberries. (That’s pronounced ning-sha.) For centuries, a superb quality Ningxia wolfberry product has been grown in the elbow-shaped plateau region of the Yellow River, Ningxia Hui, China. From ancient legend to modern miracle, this phenomenon now comes full circle today in the form of a fantastic product that the Young Living Corporation calls NingXia Red®.

NingXia Red is a naturally delicious wolfberry drink that is infused with essential nutrients. That means it energizes, fortifies and replenishes the very building blocks of health that your body instinctively wants and needs.

Rich in wide-spectrum antioxidant activity, NingXia Red contains the highest levels of naturally occurring, age-defying components. (*If offers the greatest protection against dangerous superoxide free radicals as documented in the S-ORAC test conducted by Brunswick Laboratories.) Through such antioxidant action, this powerful drink dynamically supports immune function and cardiovascular health, plus it nourishes the eyes.

The Ningxia wolfberry, the primary ingredient in NingXia Red, has been cherished for centuries in the orient for aiding a person’s health, energy and stamina, and longevity. Whole Ningxia wolfberries and other nutrient-dense fruit juices, like blueberry and pomegranate, make NingXia Red the perfect choice for optimizing wellness and allowing you to step up to a whole new level of health. This power drink also contains lemon and orange essential oils rich in the powerful antioxidant d-limonene to promote healthy liver function.

The NingXia Red Promise

In the NingXia Red product, Young Living combines the finest Ningxia wolfberries, a proprietary ingredient called “Nutrient-Guard” in the preparation, and other all-natural, nutrient-dense ingredients that together provide:

1) Dynamic energy and stamina without stimulants (e.g., without caffeine);

2) Key nutrients that fuel vital energy systems;

3) Unique protein-polysaccharides that help sustain proper immune function;

4) Highest levels of naturally occurring, age defying activity components (e.g. “anti” free radicals);

5) Great taste, high quality, non-sugary (as opposed to lower quality juices that may be sweetened with high-fructose corn syrup, sugar or artificial sweeteners);

I find the taste of Ningxia Red really real and pleasant. It wakes up my mouth, tongue and lips. After my daily dose, I feel like I’ve done something special for my health for the whole day through. :-) Now… I need to be totally transparent and tell you that I’m only in the elementary stage of using Ningxia Red. Yet, I already feel stronger and have more energy and stamina. My body is loving it! And right here in the middle of flu season, being healthy is a blessing. I’m counting on Ningxia Red and the other Young Living products to continue to bolster my immune system.

6) Essential nutrients in NingXia Red also support the following: normal cardiovascular function, normal eye health, normal cell growth, and healthy liver function. I’m betting that each one of those categories is high on your list.

*KEY FACT: The Ningxia wolfberry is one of only a handful of legimately, documented super foods. People with immune system irregularities and chronic health problems need exactly this kind of health boost if they want to feel better.

I invite you to watch two great videos below. They explain the history and use of Ningxia wolfberries and how Ningxia Red might help you to jumpstart your health. Enjoy and daydream about feeling really well… .

What would it mean if someone told you that she was getting healthy with Fibromyalgia? Does it mean that she’s getting really, really well and no longer has symptoms? Or just that she’s found some ways to cut down on her symptoms and is feeling a tiny bit better?

Is this level of health even possible for someone suffering with Fibromyalgia? Surely the title phrase implies that getting healthy is an attainable goal. So I ask you, how does anyone feel good enough to say he or she has gotten over this confounded illness!??!

The reality is there are people who will tell you that they no longer have Fibromyalgia. Up until now, there weren’t that many of them or at least we didn’t hear about them. And the ones who did proclaim it usually found a level of healing through vitamins or supplements of some kind, which required a constant investment of money and time– possibly over a long period of time.

And the other people? The ones who improved, but you don’t know how they did it because they kind of faded away into the sunset… back into life and back into the workforce, never to be heard of again? How did they improve their health so much? How did they feel well enough to resume anything approaching a normal life?

Well, here are 2 answers, 4 tips, plus a video which might help:

If you’ve ever wondered how much money is being spent to investigate the cause and cure for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS, CFIDS), I’m sorry to say it’s not nearly enough. Over twenty years have gone by with some the same people in charge of the information being put out, the research being done and the ongoing influence that the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and National Institute of Health (NIH) are doing I use that word gingerly. The progression of our goals for CFS/ CFIDS is languishing on the sidelines.

Take a look at just one of the testimonies going on this weekend. What do you think of it? Can you hear the passion in this woman’s voice for her husband? What can and will you do to raise awareness of these issues? Will something you say on your blog raise awareness within your circle of friends and readers? How about your Twitter account or Facebook page? What can you share on a platform or within a forum? Can you raise awareness at your local political level in the town and state where you live?

Dear One, if we don’t take the time and make the effort to raise awareness, many of the issues that we care about so strongly will not be pushed to the top of anyone’s agenda. The struggle is left to us, our families and our friends. Don’t give up fighting. Don’t give up. We’re at an important starting point in the information and research of XMRV retrovirus and so many issues.

Push forward? We absolutely must.

Have a great Sunday,

I bet I know what you’re thinking when you read this title, Healing Chronic Fatigue Syndrome: “There is no cure for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome… yet.” Today I want you to expand your mind beyond this widely held belief. Instead of cure, think more in terms of getting well and healing.

Cure is not the right word to use… not now. Cure is a purely traditional medicine, westernized term. It’s used solely by medical doctors, researchers and scientists. To date, they have not come up with a “cure” for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.

In integrative, alternative, mind/body/spirit medicine, the two terms getting well and healing (or healed) are used when someone’s health status gets better and his or her body is on the mend. The terms imply a significant improvement in an otherwise sick person’s level of health.

And, if you’re anything like me when my health was so bad with Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome plus…, I really didn’t care what anyone called anything. The only thing that I knew was that I wanted to get well.

So when I began to feel better and my life re-surfaced from the ash heap, everything in my world brightened overnight. Finally, I felt better. I was free of nagging, hanging-on-type health problems. I was finally healthy again!!

That why I made you this 9-minute video today. Really listen to what I’m saying about how you could be a candidate for healing what’s wrong with you. Then contact me with your questions about how to work directly with me and get Sacred Cellular Healing work -or- how to set up a “free” 15 minute telephone consult soon. We can discuss:

  • what’s going on with you and your illness,
  • the logistics of meeting in person or of talking on the telephone for our consultations over a period of weeks, (either method works as well as the other)
  • the cost involved, and finally
  • how you might be able to feel better, too. How you might experience your own healing. Now, this is already sounding like a plan! :-)

Wishing you health and happiness,

Creator of Sacred Cellular Healing

If you have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, if you know someone who suffers with it or if you’re simply curious about the illness, I highly encourage you to take 4 minutes out of your day to watch this video. The CFIDS Association of America has put this video together and it is really touching. (Then I invite you to explore this website for more information that might help you even further.)

I believe that everyone of us who currently has or has had Chronic Fatigue Syndrome can relate to the CFIDS Association’s message. We have felt the pain, endured the symptoms and desperately wanted the hope that such a message brings. What’s even more interesting to me is that the CFIDS Association believes that it’s not only their duty to educate people, but to offer them real hope of solving the problem!

So I’m choosing to offer that hope and help, too, here at the Health Matters Show about how you might heal from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Fibromyalgia. Don’t leave until you read about Sacred Cellular Healing.

Sacred Cellular Healing is a tool that I encourage you to investigate and use.

You can take advantage of it through me.

You see I used to be sick, but I’m not any longer. I’m well now! In my heart I believe that most people can improve their health through using various techniques and methodologies. Sacred Cellular Healing is a type of mind, body, spirit energy healing. When it works for folks, it works very well. It works efficiently, all the way down to the cellular level.

Have a wonderful day filled with healing and health!

To learn more about the novel retrovirus named XMRV and how it might affect you if you have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS), you may want to take a few minutes and review this exciting video from Nevada News, which features Annette Whittemore, president and founder of the Whittemore Peterson Institute and Judy Mikovits, Ph.D., director of research for WPI.

Until now there have not been major breakthroughs in Chronic Fatigue Syndrome even though over twenty years of research has been done in the United States and abroad. Some of that research has been to find a novel retrovirus as the cause of CFS, but until now that hasn’t happened.

That’s not to say that there aren’t scores of scientists/ researchers/ doctors working very hard. There are many! And certainly we know more than we did in the 1980’s when the big push to figure out the cause of CFS began.

But to actually say that we have new, definitive tests that absolutely diagnose CFS, no, we don’t. To say that there are concrete markers and tests that the average, general practice doctor can run in his office, no, none are available. And until we do have those tests, people with CFS won’t:

  • Get the respect they deserve -or-
  • Have access to tools that can help them prove their illness for insurance claims or offer concrete proof of the illness for their Social Security disability claims!

Let’s rejoice in this finding and hope that we get even more answers and tools very quickly. (Click on “click to continue” below to see the video.)
