As you and I approach the Christmas season with a goal of surviving it, one thing you may be asking yourself was hinted at last week: if Fibromyalgia Syndrome is not a terminal condition, then why am I still sick? There could be many reasons for whatever answer you come up with. It’s true that some people get over the condition and go on with their lives, while others keep right on suffering. Many people even get worse over time and watch their health decline further! Let’s change that and start now during the Christmas season holiday.

(This audio podcast is 6 minutes 21 seconds)

Okay. Let’s start off by playing a what-if game… what if the quality of your life eroded and got worse, the drama in your life story intensified and your future changed for the absolute worst? Unless you make the right choices now (Christmas or otherwise), you might never get another opportunity to come back and do it right again. Such a time as the Christmas season can be the very event that preempts and precipitates your life and symptoms either tunneling down into the trenches of ultimate pain and agony -or- spiraling upwards towards renewed hope and a re-invigorated life!

Help…my life’s in a tailspin. I don’t want to go here!!

Yes, It’s critical to learn the important need-to-know facts about Fibromyalgia. But after that, if you’re at one end of the spectrum (e.g. the complaining, negativity and poor-me) or the other end of it, the “fluffy stuff” that’s batted around), neither of these two things end up being important at all. Not long term. Not when all you really want is to get well.

The truth is that we all complain sometimes. As soon as you can, though, make a point to lay aside being negative. Lay aside looking for some magic, cure-all drug. Lay aside thoughts that you’ll only be happy when and if… . Instead, put all of this out of your mind because instead you’re concentrating on bigger, better and different things. Things to help you succeed. Things to improve your health and help you get healthy again. I know you want to do whatever it will take to feel better and reclaim your life! Being negative and dependent will not get you where you want to go.

And as for the fluffy stuff? I’m talking about anything that promises you symptom relief or a cure, but isn’t doing the job for you. *In 2012, I’ll be offering you something special which I and lots of people are finding to be priceless. Stay tuned. Personally, I find that few supplements (or drugs) conquer Fibromyalgia. Help maybe, but not really slay the symptoms.

SUGGESTION: Take a few minutes to add up what you’re spending on Fibromyalgia, both on drugs and over-the-counter supplements. After you make a comprehensive list, tuck it away where you can get to it easily. We’ll get back to this. I promise…in a couple weeks, I plan to have all of the data in place to tell you about something F-A-N-T-A-S-T-I-C!!! I’ve got my fingers crossed, too, and I am very, very excited!

Your to-do assignment from last week began with your making a personal list of who or what might trip you up this holiday. When you sat down to make that list, what life points did you focus on? People? Places? Did you concentrate more on emotional problems that could trip you up? Are all of these items really important now that you’ve listed them or did you include any points that actually don’t matter that much?

If you have a few of the latter on your list, go ahead and cross them out now. You can return to the smaller issues later. Today instead, concentrate on what’s crucial in YOU making it through the holidays and working positively on your health. Resolve to get to the crux of the problem NOW. Why not? If you become less distracted with the stuff in life that does not matter, you have a better chance of getting this right. Better health will follow.

Now go ahead and keep working on your list, but save it. Especially, put it up where no one will see it if you’re writing down and thinking about some very personal issues. Then check back next week to compare your answers to mine. Just don’t stop this process. It’s too important. This is your health we’re talking about. Your future depends on you getting this right!

Plus, I’m hoping that you come up with some ideas that I don’t think of. If so, submit and share them in comment form. Get recognition for your hard work while you’re growing and getting control over your Fibromyalgia.

Thanks. I’m Cinda Crawford, host of the Health Matters Show and thanks for attending “Fibromyalgia: Christmas Season Broadcast 2 of 3″

We’re entering the busiest season of the year and that’s all the more reason to consider relaxing for health. I know this because I’m as prone to getting caught up in the hoo-ha as anyone else. Just yesterday I went to the mall and stayed too long. That’s when I officially became my own worst enemy. I lost my keys!

Well, you know how the tiredness and pain of Fibromyalgia and CFS can take you to that really bad place and you truly need a transport machine to instantly “poof” you back home? I didn’t have one and I began to get frantic as I walked around, overly tired, with an aching back and legs and surely a big frown on my face. Why me? Why did I have to lose my keys in the middle of the 8th row of sweaters in the store’s last display? It happens.

So today, dear ones, I have a treat for you. Click on the Health Matters Show podcast link below and hear me read a creative visualization to help you relax and help your health be all it can be. The title of it is Healing Firemen. I believe you’ll like it, plus I know you can benefit from such a nourishing experience. Block out a portion of your day to do this. Find a quiet spot for a few moments to really do some relaxing for health. Don’t let people or responsibilities distract you from taking care of yourself. But,…don’t drive while you’re listening either!

You should get an immediate benefit from this experience. If you’d like to create some of these visualizations for yourself, check out Julie Lusk’s great book below.

Travel through this world enough or even tool around in your hometown with an awareness and openness to people who are chronically ill and suffering with chronic pain conditions and you may find yourself wondering or asking, “Who Doesn’t Have Fibromyalgia?” That’s because their are literally millions of people suffering with chronic pain conditions that resemble Fibromyalgia! Some of them have been diagnosed and treated accordingly, but a large portion of them go un-diagnosed and worse, under-treated, if treated at all.

Almost every week or at least every month, I am amazed to see different doctors in my geographical area who are being hounded by the medical profession for treating and prescribing drugs in some supposedly unorthodox or illegal way to people suffering with some form of chronic pain. Maybe those docs are guilty…I don’t know. The newspapers report stories of professional people being sent to jail for knowingly or unknowingly prescribing Oxycontin (etc.) to others who either re-sell the drug illegally or take it themselves, thus overdosing and dying!

I do know that some of these doctors are caring and concerned about their patients. They didn’t get into the medical profession to push drugs to drug-seekers or supply drug dealers, so I ask you:

Why lump every one of them in one assumed-to-be-guilty group?

Are all seekers of pain relief legitimate? Is each hurting person valid and worthy of having his or her pain needs met?

I cannot vouch for everyone; no doubt, there are drug-seekers. But I am sure that many times, the majority of hurting people are going untreated or are under-treated. Thousands of people are not getting adequate pain relief (for a multitude of reasons) and their lives are being shattered because of it. SOMETHING MUST BE DONE TO CORRECT THIS PROBLEM!

Thank you so much for visiting the Health Matters Show today. Please share this info and then leave a personal comment about how you handle illness and pain. Example: if people don’t understand your level of pain, do you continue to try explaining your predicament to him or here =or= do you give up and quit trying? (I posted similar thoughts on this issue at Get Well Health this week by way of Lizzy’s blog and her writings about RA, Rheumatoid Arthritis, patients.)

None of us can afford to slink away into obscurity. Whether pain is your main symptoms or it’s something else, speak up. Find you a good doctor and get the help you need to get well!

That could be good or bad depending on your view of the season, your ability to get out and enjoy it or your confinement to bed or home. I like the fall season with its colors, but I know winter is coming soon. So, what do you and I do to prepare?

That question came to me a few weeks ago after I watched the Virgina Tech football game when they played Miami. The stadium was packed, the fans were antsy for a win and the day was right for making a lot of noise, stomping, jumping and probably causing the whole stadium to shake! Yes, with seconds left, the crowd went nuts. The whole place was surely rocking!

Now…how is that like or unlike you or me? If You and I are ready for what comes our way, we have reason to make a lot of noise and celebrate, too! (Please listen to the Health Matters Show audio podcast today; then watch the VA Tech video below. If you haven’t seen it, it’s a video that is hard to believe.)

Below I grabbed this VA Tech video off of YouTube. I urge you to watch it closely as the game comes down to the wire. Two opponents compete, both wanting victory.

*Your opponent is illness/ sickness/ Fibromyalgia/ Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, etc. You fight long and hard, but the battle comes down to the wire and the question comes down to… is illness or wellness better prepared for victory? Which party consistently makes good use of time, resources and the people around them?

In this case, the winner was VA Tech. Other times, that’s not the case, but that day they won the ball game.

On days when your own game is down to the wire, you want to win and I want to see you be victorious, too. So I’m asking, how prepared are you? Are you spending your time fretting over the illness or learning how to get well? Do you have good resources to help you succeed? Who do you have on your team (side) helping you? When are you going to get off the bleachers (the couch) and take a brave, new step towards doing something different?

So, even if you’re asking, “Is it time for winter again?”, be prepared and ready. You’re in the game for the long haul. It’s what you make of it along the way that counts.

That makes me happy! Two oncologists in the city of Bergen in Norway have recently discovered a possible treatment for this horrible illness.

The drug that they administered improved the condition of two out of three of the patients treated. Several patients were healed. The breakthrough, published today in the medical journal PLOS one, can provide answers to CFS patients concerning what causes the mysterious disease and how it can be treated.

We definitely see an effect. There is hope,” states professor and head of oncology at Haukeland University Hospital, Olav Mella to the TV 2 News.

TV 2 has exclusive access to the research paper that came out in the medical journal PLOS one. Mella and his colleague, attending MD Øystein Fluge, have completed a double-blind study on 30 Norwegian CFS patients.

The results are sensational. As stated, two out of three of the patients experienced major improvement, while some experienced a full recovery.

Let’s suppose you’re making a valiant effort right now: your theme song is Balancing My Life with Fibromyalgia and the tune is not so sweet. I’m guessing that you need some help. In the previous posts on this topic, Fibromyalgia video #1 and Fibromyalgia video #2, you can find some very valuable information. Today in tip #3, we’re talking about hopes, dreams and reaching your goals of wellness.

See please take a look at today’s video, then proceed deeper into the post for more thoughts. There may even be a challenge or two that will get you thinking.

Okay, here is the challenge. Begin by asking yourself these questions: (this all assumes you’re tired of being sick with Fibromyalgia!)

How do you see yourself participating in life up to this point?

Do you have an idea of how you will get well?

If you do participate and are active, what methods will you employ to reach your goals?

BEWARE!

Please don’t pin all your hopes and dreams on a magic pill or one magic theory that could have flaws. There is so much yet-to-be-discovered information and answers for both Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. The key is to keep an open mind and keep on searching for the right answers for you.

There is absolutely no one who wants to hear you singing your song, Balancing My Life with Fibromyalgia, with more joy, more spirit or more success than I do. The key is finding out how to do it!

This Fibromyalgia Healing Series features three tips for helping you get well and is produced by the Health Matters Show with host, Cinda Crawford.

Fibromyalgia Healing comes to us by way of the same AARP author mentioned previously, Julie Winkler and her short article, Beat Defeat.

It includes the following advice, a quote by Edwin Locks, Ph.D.:

To boost your odds of success next time, break the effort into doable chunks. Create challenging, clear, specific goals- and have a deadline.

Tip #3: Adjust Your Sights. Julie Winkler also encourages you to “Never fear failure.”

So how do we manifest this great advice into something workable and doable for Fibromyalgia healing? How do you adjust your sights? Let’s explore all of the three tips and this number three more thoroughly.

Most of us look at the task of healing from Fibromyalgia as something monumental. On our bad days, we’re not sure that it can be accomplished…at all. On our good days, we have hope. IF you can create some worthwhile goals, maybe, just maybe it is doable to some degree. Can you get 25% well? Maybe. 50% improved? That would be nice. 100% healthy and healed? That would be grand! Let’s continue talking about this week’s three tips for accomplishing this exciting goal and purpose:

(10 minutes 30 seconds audio podcast)

Tip #1: Isolate the incident. Don’t feel that what is must be the same as what will be. Being extremely ill with Fibromyalgia does not have to be a part of your longterm future. Instead, begin to look outside the box for what could be. At the very least, start a process of daydreaming what your future health could be like.

Tip #2: Channel Positivity. If you change your attitude and begin to think more positively, you have a good chance of generating more positive energy and circumstances your way.

Instinctively, we all seem to know this about every other issue in life. However when it comes to something as tough as healing from Fibromyalgia, we often waiver. Stumble, sometimes to fall.Instead of allowing that to happen, we must remain positive and not give in to harboring negative thoughts.

When it comes to our health, we may allow ourselves to have more negative thoughts because we fear being vulnerable, fear depending on drugs to make it through the day or fear depending on others to help maintain our lives. That fear is a crippler.

Deciding to live without fear will lead us away from it, towards being empowered and stronger. -and- on to tip number three.

Tip #3: Adust Your Sights. The longer I live, the more I believe that a great deal of figuring out life is about your vantage point and ability to balance. That means we human beings are constantly re-evaluating where we are, why, what, the shape we’re in and how to move forward.

Looking up to a lofty goal might be fun, but it always reminds us that we’re below that goal. We haven’t attained it yet. Looking down at accomplishments can be self-satisfying, but they remind us of where we’ve been.

The future is not that way. As we look out ahead of us, we can’t know what we will encounter, but if you adjust your sights toward expecting the best to happen, you’ll get a lot of the best in return. If you know that you’ll be happy, a big part of you will attain that mark.

In this day of Fibromyalgia Healing, why don’t you adjust your sights, make up your mind and begin your healing process? Really…why, not?

Thanks, Cinda Crawford
Fibro), you’ve come to the right place for answers. There are a lot of tips, tricks, information and services to help you here at the Health Matters Show and at Get Well Health.

Today we’re working on tip #2 in this Fibromyalgia Healing Series. (Find tip #1 from earlier this week if you missed it.)

Tip #2 is to channel positivity. Huh? Now, I’m not speaking of “channeling” like you hear some medium or mystic doing. No, I’m talking about you focusing on being positive. If you look at your situation as something that can be changed, should be changed and is capable of being changed, all you need is to do is change it. Simple? Complex? Now don’t stop…follow me here. There’s more to this idea below based on the writings of M. M. Ryan:

You know that when you want to change something, you must think positively about changing it. If you decide it can’t be changed…that you’re stuck with it, it ain’t gonna’ change!

This can be found in the logic of M. M. Ryan, author of AdaptAbility: How to Survive Change You Didn’t Ask For. She says:

The trick is to have what’s called a growth mindset. Ask: ‘What can I use from this to create success?’

I’m guessing that this article is about finding success in general, but let’s apply this principle to you and your desire to heal from Fibro. What can you do to change your mindset about your illness and, instead of doom and gloom, change it to one of ultimate success in healing? If you can find a way to do this, you will have what the author calls the “growth mindset.” You essentially will create your own sucess.

This concept applies to Fibromyalgia like it does any other topic of your life that you want to attain success. You must think it before you can do it. Will it be easy to change from feeling stuck to being more hopeful? Possibly not. If figuring out Fibro was super easy, you would have done it by now. But can you do it? Absolutely, YES.

Use the first tip (from earlier) and the second one in this list to get a better handle on how Fibromyalgia is manifesting in your life. Use them to move forward. Don’t sit idly by and assume that either you’re stuck suffering with the condition or that it “magically” will go away when you take your next pill.

The universe loves action and forward momentum.
You will be rewarded when you keep moving towards success.
You will find it by changing your actions and your what you believe.

PS- I love, love, love Dr. Andrew Weil and Martin L. Rossman’s Self Healing with Guided Imagery 2 CD set. If you don’t have something like this, pick it up from Amazon quickly by clicking on the image below. It’s a great addition to your arsenal of tools to help you think positively and get well from Fibro quickly!

Thanks so much for joining me in this series. Friday on the Health Matters Show blog and audio podcast, we will look at the last tip in this Fibromyalgia Healing Series, “Adjust Your Sights.”

In starting this Healing Fibromyalgia Tip Series, I find myself asking the following question: Why is illness failure so prevalent and successfully healing from Fibromyalgia so difficult? The answer appears to be complex, but it truly may not be.

I’ve adapted this topic from an article I saw in AARP, but designed the answer for us… the people interested in healing from Fibromyalgia. The people interested in taking the words “illness” and “failure” out of our vocabulary and out of our daily lives.

Tip #1 is:

Isolate the incident: They recommend not to see failure as a permanent quality of yourself. This is also the approach of Carol Dweck, Ph.D., author of Mindset: The New Psychology of Success. If we apply that to us, I think it would be to not consider ourselves to have Fibro permanently. Now, many people might disagree with me and say that no one ever gets well of Fibro, but I disagree with that. I am a prime example. I no longer suffer with Fibromyalgia!

Do I have some aches and pains? Yes, I’m no longer young. But do I suffer with Fibro? No, I don’t. To have Fibromyalgia means you suffer with certain characteristics. I don’t. I am healed of this chronic illness and I’m so thankful that I can say that.

So to take the author’s advice further, isolate your Fibromyalgia characteristics. One way to do that is to keep a list of them and how you feel as time goes by. As you find things (e.g. services or products) to help you feel better, make notes in your list book (or paper) of your improvements. Sometimes something can help us feel better. It may be a subtle change that happens over time. If you don’t note it for posterity sake, you may overlook your improvement or forget about it when you stop doing it or when you have a bad Fibro flare.

Remember the things that help you and keep that knowledge about healing from Fibromyalgia handy. Later on this week, I’ll blog about points two and three and we’ll kick “illnesss failure” to the curb! Don’t miss them. For now, get out your pen and paper (or notebook) and go to work.

Thanks, Cinda Crawford

Some people think that getting well from CFS or Chronic Fatigue Syndrome is impossible. A pipe dream. Naysayers warn, “No one ever gets well.” I’m here to tell you that simply is not true. 40% of people who come down with CFS get “well” by the end of the fourth year. Other people can get well after that, but the percentages go down the longer you’re sick.

This and other information was some of the data revealed to us by Dr. Charles Lapp this last week.

Many, many soldiers all over the world continue to suffer.

Here is a glance at the life and journey of Kerry Fuller.

Friday, I’ll end this week on the Health Matters Show with a video which explains “how” GWS is connected with illnesses like Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) and more.

GWS reported symptoms range from chronic fatigue, headaches and sleep disturbances to joint pains, irritable bowel, stomach and respiratory disorders and psychological problems. These symptoms sound very familiar to those experienced by people with CFS, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.

According to Caroline Hawley and Stuart Hughes of the BBC News and their account of one man’s Gulf War Syndrome journey, Kerry Fuller,

In the years since Operation Desert Storm, theories over possible causes of ill health have ranged from vaccinations, depleted uranium used in armour-piercing weapons, organophosphate pesticides, exposure to nerve agents and the effects of inhaling toxic smoke from burning oil wells.

Psychological factors and battlefield stress have also been cited as possible factors.

I am convinced that there is a lot more going on here and I’ll being sharing my information on Friday. Until then, please leave your comments below. As far as GWS reporting and Kerry Fuller, well, I doubt the subject is closed. Surely, Kerry Fuller hopes his future is not written yet.

Thank you, Cinda Crawford

Today on the Health Matters Show, I’m asking and answering, “What causes Fibromyalgia?” This is a question that I hear everywhere and is posed to me quite often. People are confused and they have a right to be. Millions of people, including a lot of doctors, cannot answer that question adequately. So for us to tackle it honestly and well, a few assumptions are in order.

First, by asking the question at all, you agree that Fibromyalgia is something and is real, not imaginary.

If so, there is an actual cause for it. It didn’t magically appear on your horizon and make you sick. This isn’t a game of chance or the lottery.

Illness happens for a reason, not by chance.

Now…that’s not the whole answer. But if you can agree with me that illness happens for a reason, you’ve come a long way towards getting to the truth already today.

You just didn’t know it before now…Fibromyalgia ‘happened’ to you for a reason!

(Audio is 14 minutes and 11 seconds.)

Second, now that you and I agree Fibromyalgia is real, we need to classify it, but how? Is it a simple illness, a full-fledged disease or a syndrome? (Meaning, it’s not defined well enough to be classed as one thing, but instead has the characteristics of many symptoms, problems and illnesses.)

According to the medical world right now, Fibromyalgia is technically classed as a syndrome, plus, the cause is unknown. That’s because doctors and researchers cannot agree on much about the illness, especially what causes it.

In today’s medical world, the word “Fibromyalgia” implies uncertainty and lack of proof of a real, measurable, medical disease.

The most agreed upon characteristic of Fibro is that a patient will present as being multi-symptomatic, meaning that most people suffer with a lot of symptoms. You have to wonder how much longer it will take before there is a concensus opinion of what Fibromyalgia is and what causes it.

In many ways, Fibromyalgia is as confusing to “them” now as it was twenty years ago, when I first got sick, or fifty years ago, when doctors told my grandmother that she had rheumatism in her shoulders. I’ll never forget she took Bufferin everyday or a Goodies powder for the pain. Every few months she would visit her doctor to get a shot. (I assume those were cortisone shots, but I don’t know.)

Therefore, we are left with few known, accepted facts and no respected, medically-derived answer to, “What causes Fibromyalgia?” That offers no help or hope to the estimated ten million people who have the illness! Nor does that help you, the patient, either live with this life-dominating health problem or figure out how to get well from it. It does leave you sitting in the dust, twittling your thumbs while the rest of your body hurts miserably, etc. etc. etc.

I was reminded of this yesterday when I was on Facebook and one lady spoke of her troubles with her doctor. He/she gave the patient (this lady) no help for her Fibro, but neither offered her help for other medical problems which he should have been qualified to address and treat. Incredulous, right? I am left to assume that the doctor did not know what to do with the patient, so therefore did NOTHING! How tragic.

That reaction must stem from either a) a lack of knowledge -or- b) a lack of dispensing good medical care or both! Every patient deserves at least adequate medical care and to have his or her legitimate medical problems addressed. Otherwise, why go to the doctor? To get handed scripts for a bunch of pills and see you in a month, when I get paid another fee for you showing up at my door? I don’t think so!

You may be like me. I fantasize about catching an I-don’t-believe-in-Fibromyalgia doctor unaware, tap him (or her) politely on the shoulder, face him and whisper in my most secretive-sounding yet convincing voice, “Fibromyalgia is real!” When his face gets that all too funny look, then I walk away knowing that if this man had a loved one who suffered with Fibromyalgia, he would no longer doubt the illness’s existence or whether his loved one was exaggerating how badly he felt or if the pain was all in the head.

Today is no time to give up hope because the information and the attitudes aren’t there yet. No, instead, I encourage you to begin thinking outside of the box for alternative answers that not only make sense, but are working for a lot of people. Rather than give you my answer piece by piece and cause this post to be too long, I’m offering you the data on this hot topic by way of today’s audio podcast file. All you have to do is find the audio right now (see the file above, click on the right-facing arrow to get you started), mark this page to come back to, or take a couple seconds to download the MP3 to your computer hard drive, i-Pod or cell phone.

So let’s wrap up this topic by asking, where do all these non-facts and lack of answers leave you? If you’re confused and do not know what to do about Fibromyalgia, today’s information is some of the most important that you will find anywhere. It will help you decide where you are. It will help you figure out your own best answer for…

When I say that Fibromyalgia symptoms are caused by trauma, what I mean is that traumatic events that you experience at any time in your life can impact your health in the most dramatic ways imaginable. Whether trauma occurs en utero, during your first moments of birth, at age 2, 5, 10 or later as a teenager or adult, everything that happens to you, which your body, mind and spirit interpret as being traumatic, very likely can and will do significant damage to you…eventually.

Enter Fibromyalgia. This illness like all ‘invisible illnesses’ commonly results from physical, mental/ emotional, psychological, spiritual or sexual trauma.

Now stay with me. Beginning in this post and ending with the Friday Health Matters Show podcast, I’ll explain this concept really well -and- how this impacts your chance at getting well.

Mind body healing
can show you the way out of this dilemma
and the way back to health.
It’s dramatic and different, but not hard to understand
or implement if you are ready to move forward.

In a new book that I’m writing, From the Floor…Looking Up, I demonstrate how and why these concepts are true and how you can take advantage of this earth-shattering information. Know this: your body will never be truly healthy until you get rid of the negative energy created by trauma.

Now Enter: Mind Body Healing, the one mechanism that can help you get rid of the damage from traumatic energy and get you back to being healthy.

Traumatic Energy Comes From:

a) Physical trauma of (1) the birth process on your body, as a newborn; (2) the physical trauma inflicted upon your sensitive, young, electrical body if it is deluged with shots, immunizations, prescription drugs, surgeries or invasive procedures, and (3) trauma that can happen throughout your lifetime in the form of accidents, car wrecks, etc. One example written up in the health journals is when a person gets a whiplash, Fibromyalgia often results.

b) Mental/ Emotional trauma of people arguing and fighting around you (either while you’re still in your mother’s womb (before you were born) or afterwards. Emotional trauma can occur at any time in your life. Disturbing people and troubling events leave you with emotional trauma and damage to your mind, body and spirit in the form of ill-health and dis-ease.

c) Psychological trauma occurs when someone demeans your self-worth, self-value or any of the self-esteem issues that are present and valued in a loving, healthy relationship. (These can arise soon after birth, but often occur later in life as evidenced by teasing, cyber-bullying or after a physical assault, rape or incest.) Perpetrators of psychological assault and trauma are not people you want to be around.

d) Spiritual trauma is not pretty, but we see the results often when someone doubts his or her being really wanted or valued in their world; of doubting that the “self” should hang around. Spiritual trauma often results from the overwhelming influence of emotionally and spiritually unhealthy, negative people. Their influence can be strong and it can damage you severely. (*Spiritual trauma can be one of the toughest traumas to recognize and overcome. It also can be the result of a spiritual assault, but that’s a huge topic and too involved to go into here.)

e) Sexual trauma that some children experience, due to the inappropriate actions of other children or adults in the family -or- outright abuse from a stranger. You may be aware that sexual trauma occurred in your life or you may have totally repressed the memory of certain events. Either way that does not mean that sexual trauma isn’t bothering your long term health. It definitely will. Sexual trauma includes aspects of physical, emotional, psychological and spiritual trauma combined. That is a major reason why this type of trauma can be so difficult to overcome.

The presence of trauma will continue to damage
your body and health
until you get rid of the source energy of the old trauma
and damage the trauma caused within you.
Period.

There are more examples of trauma than the ones I’ve listed here. I talk about traumatic situations and the resulting damage they can do you in depth in my new, upcoming book. I’ve almost finished it and I’m so excited. I will explain this and reveal the details about how you can get well by using the mind body healing concepts that I teach.

Yes, Fibromyalgia symptoms are often caused by trauma. I’ll explain a really important part of “why” trauma causes Fibromyalgia Friday on the Health Matters Show podcast. Be sure that you return to hear why this revolutionary approach to healthcare works so well…even for a tough, chronic illness like Fibromyalgia!

If you’re a healthy person, you may think of friends, family, world leaders or maybe even the names of age-old saints.

But if you’re sick, your life takes on a completely different urgency. You don’t care about exactly the same things as your healthy friends and vice-versa. You sometimes don’t read the same books or visit the same blogs. Your ears don’t perk up at the mention of minute trivia because your radar is fine tuned for information about how to get well. Let’s face it. Things are different in the lives of people who suffer with illnesses like Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, arthritis, Lupus, Lyme Disease, autoimmune conditions, etc.

That also means that you probably have “different” influential people in your life. Hum… . That leads us right to the purpose of today’s Health Matters Show: (See all four of these gut-wrenching and provocative questions today. Don’t be shy. Answer them!)

#1: Which people did you interact with in 2010, who did not add to your “healthy” life?

#2: Is it wise to stay away from these people and not allow them to affect your life and health negatively? If so, how do you do that?

#3: Which people encouraged and helped you move forward in your “healthy” life?

#4: Do you choose to remain under their influence? What friendship and knowledge do you gain from being with them? From learning from them?

With me being so much “out in the public” with my blogs, websites, and personal writings, with being active on Facebook and Twitter, I can think of a great number of people (and friends) who cast very influential and positive shadows in this “health” world that we frequent. It humbles me to sometimes be counted among those of influence. But that is not the point right now.

The work to be done here and the powerful questions to be answered in this post today are for YOU! Before you leave, check out the audio podcast for this Friday edition of the Health Matters Show. (wink…wink… I saved some of the best and most though-provoking info for it.)

WARNING!

In no way shape or form should you continue to encourage friendships with people who are negative. No person with a sourpuss personality can count on getting well. Friendship with them will impact your health. Just being with them (geographic proximity) or around them (virtually on the Internet) could jeopardize your chances of healing!
