Getting Well

Hold on to your hat, dear one, because undoubtedly, this interview with Mary Moeller, the author of Fibromyalgia Cookbook: A Daily Guide to Becoming Healthy Again (revised) is one of the most powerful, thought-provoking interviews I’ve ever done for the Health Matters Show! Mary really shares some truly great information.

(Note: This is actually the second part of our longer, extended interview. You can catch the first part from last week’s interview by accessing the link here, but please do it later. I don’t want you to miss what’s coming up next.) :-)

Whether you have Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome or some other chronic illness, when you and I make a habit of eating well, we promote our good health and stave off the possibility of furthering chronic illness symptoms. Now not all illnesses are obviously influenced by diet, but surprisingly, I don’t know of a one that isn’t greatly affected by the foods, liquids, vitamins, herbs, minerals, chemicals and toxic substances that we ingest. OUCH! That hit home!

Well, you say, I don’t put anything harmful in my body? Well, maybe not, but take a moment to answer two simple questions:

Because there’s a common belief that a human being is more of a spirit walking this earth, a spirit which is simply clothed in human flesh, we’re looking closely today at the issues of mind, body, spirit and how principles that apply to this type of thinking can help us get healthy again.

Now, believing we’re spirit is not such a far out concept, if you keep in mind that each of us is made of components of mind, body and spirit. We happen to physically live in flesh. You know how that flesh can be unforgiving when it comes to how you suffer with a chronic illness, one like Fibromyalgia or Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.

Example: The body’s skin covering eventually sags as skin cells are not as robust and collagen and hormones are less plentiful. The body can allow infection to take hold, if the blood and immune system are not as capable of fighting off invaders. In time the body has trouble regulating itself and being functional and capable. It breaks down eventually, allowing old age to creep in and physical death to occur.

This fact partly can be attributed to the opposing nature of body vs spirit… .

Getting well from Fibromyalgia or any other long term illness can be a lot like preparing and selling a house. To put your house up for sale you have do whatever it takes to get it into great functional shape, looking good and performing really well again. Believe it or not, the same goes for you if you suffer with Fibromyalgia: you’ve got to do what it takes.

Can getting well from Fibromyalgia be that easy? Not really, but this simple hilosophy will head you in the right direction of anticipating and planning for the healthy state of your future body.

This week we’re focusing on the topic of how to get well from Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. On Friday, Dr. Mike J. Funicello will speak with us and share his philosophy and practical experience of what makes people like us (with Fibro and CFS) sick and what can help us get well. I encourage you to begin thinking about these things and be sure to tune in to the Friday 3 pm EST broadcast.

Did you know that when you graciously accept the prescription sample drugs that you get at your doctor’s office that you could be setting yourself up for aggravation and lots of money out of pocket?

Well, it’s true.

A) Those sample drugs are available because drug reps (representatives) came by your doctor’s office. They educated him or her on the value and use of their newest, most fantastic drug. They want him to write a lot of precriptions for it, so they in turn leave sample drugs for the doctor to try out on his patients.

B) IF those samples do work for you, that’s a win for the drug reps and the drug corporation which they represent because, ordinarily when you call in, a new prescription will be written for that same drug.

BEWARE: You’re opening up pandora’s box and out pops two very troubling and potentially expensive problems:

New research from London warns that prolonged sitting endangers your health.

Even if you exercise regularly, scientists are increasingly warning that sitting for prolonged periods could be bad for your long term health.

And the type of sitting you do does not seem to matter: at the office in your work chair, at school attending classes, in the car commuting to work or before a computer or the television trying to wind down after a stressful day. The overall number of hours that you sit during the day seems to be the problem and the risk factor here.

Most of us knew that sitting for long periods of time endangers and spreads the waistline and hips, but actually the act of sitting being an overall health risk? Yes, that’s news. Check out the following link… .

by Cinda Crawford on January 11, 2010

in Announcements, Getting Well, Resources, Videos

picofyogadvdThis time of year we’re all looking for ways to meet our new year’s resolutions and fitness and nutrition DVDs may be a way to help us accomplish our goals of having and using the best health information. Amazon.com is now making a special deal until January 24th. They’re featuring special ones at

50% off!

Click the Amazon.com link above. You’ll find great deals.

(Of course, they offer you more DVD choices than just nutrition or fitness health information and how-to videos. I just clicked the link and there are tons of regular movies, too!)

I confess that I like to shop places like Amazon.com because that means I don’t have to make so many trips away from home. Just like you, I have a lot of “things to do” and not having to pound the pavement in the shopping center really appeals to me! It’s one of my little secrets for conserving time and energy that allow me to get a lot of “stuff” done! Do you remember me talking about Dr. Charles Lapp’s suggestion of using the envelope method for managing you daily energy quotient? If you don’t, check it out.

.
In the end, it doesn’t matter whether you must stay close to home because of health reasons or you simply choose to shop from the comfort of your home computer or Internet-ready telephone, this is an excellent way to make good use of your time and energy. We all must be smart and save our energy dollars as well as our physical dollars for what really counts… the goal of getting well!

Plus, with time and energy at a premium, I encourage you to take a look at this offer and make sure you’re not missing something that you’ll kick yourself in the pants for not having taken advantage of a month from now. :-)

I’m wishing you a good, health and resourceful day,
Cinda Crawford, host of the Health Matters Show

Whether you’re searching for information and answers on Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome or other chronic health problems, often you can find good health information on the web, if you know where to look and who to pay attention to. That can be a significant fact in your search for meaningful answers.

At the Health Matters Show I try very hard to provide you with great sources of health information to help you re-make yourself into being all that you can be– healthwise and on a mind/body/spirit basis. I believe I’ve demonstrated the “health information” facts this week alone. (Feel free to review the timely announcements about Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, if you missed them. See the blog post references that follow and the comments to those posts:

nevergiveupWhen we’re having fun, we’re smiling and life is grand, however, people who suffer with a chronic illness like Fibromyalgia or Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, often cannot begin to imagine better times, getting well or having any fun at all. I encourage you to turn your back on that type of thinking. Instead, today, let’s simply let our minds wander, dream and contemplate “the possibility” of healing.

“Manifest fun and health in your life today.”

For today there are only 2 things to think about. Then finish up by watching a precious video below. It will make you smile!

HINT HINT HINT…

If you are smiling, there is no way chronic illness can get the best of YOU in that moment!

Activitiy #1) Smile. If you smile, you’re happy and you don’t feel sad. It is literally impossible to be sad and smile at the same exact moment. Your face won’t allow it. :-)

Activity #2) Dream. If you dream, you’re thinking of the future. As such, you’re imagining what “could be” and even going so far as imagining that your future is real– right now.

Take a moment to smile. Dream. Better options for your getting well and getting over Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and other types of chronic illness are right around the corner.

Thanks, Cinda Crawford, your host of the Health Matters Show

*I really enjoy hosting the show and creating a means for your getting well from chronic illness. Plus, it’s my pleasure to provide you with access to an extraordinary health tool. Take the time to learn about Sacred Cellular Healing (SCH). You may be one of the lucky people to discover a way to actually get well, recover from chronic illness and get on with the rest of your life!

(If you don’t know what SCH is about, click on the hypertext link above. When you’re through, return here to click through to an especially cute and inspiring video about the power of making life fun!)

Better Health in 2010Whether you’ve been hiding in the closet fervently hoping that Fibromyalgia or Chronic Fatigue Syndrome would go away on its own -or- you’ve been fighting with every last breath, speck of energy and last dime in your pocketbook, it’s still incredibly important not to lose hope because 2010 can be your year to return to better health.

Now don’t turn away. Hang in here with me. Yes, there are only a handful of people who say that it’s possible to get over, get well from, heal from… either illness, yet people are getting well. You may not have realized it, but healing is happening.

Make it your New Year’s Resolution: listen to the rest of this story, as Paul Harvey would say. It is “possible” to heal from Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.

IT REALLY IS.

cinda-standup-facing-left-to-right-sideviewAs I write this blog post today, I have to confess that I’m really stressed, yet trying hard to keep up every commitment and every goal for the approaching holidays and for my self-committed responsibilities to maintaining the Health Matters Show. Why you ask? Because life happens and we never want to “not do” what’s important to us or what we’ve already promised to do.

Case in point, take this week’s subjects: a) being sick all over with Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, b) how and why the body gets so confused about how to heal and c) the holistic healing and health answers for improving your health.

This week my husband hurt his back badly. We’ve been to the emergency room twice in four days. He’s on high-powered drugs… and he can’t drive safely. So I’m not only playing nursemaid, but chauffeur. My time and energy have not been my own. Thank goodness I’m well enough now to do that. Way back when I was so sick, that would not have been the case.

If you’re sick all over and suffering with Fibromyalgia (Fibro or FMS) and/or Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS or ME/CFS), you’re not suffering in just one, easy-to-point-to, physical spot or location.

A. In fact, your entire body is involved. You feel sick all over, you’re exhausted and you probably hurt in so many places that you can’t point to them all. How can that be?

If I’m guessing right, you’re worrying that something major has gone haywire in your body and you may this sick… indefinitely!

B. And what is the absolute pits, you’re suffering with different types of multiple symptoms. They come and go at will, plus they show up at the most inconvenient times. Some of them are so odd that you can’t describe them well to your doctor, friends or family.

Your body acts confused.

Yes, everything about your health seems off-track. The most critical issue is how to successfully treat your symptoms and get you back to normal. Consider the following examples:

sb10069478bp-001 Both of the resources that I passed along to you yesterday about Myalgic Encephalomyelitis, ME/CFS (Chronic Fatigue Syndrome), should help you to get informed about the illness and help you manage its affects for your child or in young people.

However both of these resources are inadequate to use alone. Yes, there are books, reports and lots of information on healing mechanisms that you can find, but nothing adds more value and long term help to your young person being sick more than an older relative or friend giving personal time, attention and interest to them in seeing that they live as healthfully (e.g. “full of health”) as possible.

That surely offers them the best chance to get well that you can facilitate happening. Go the extra mile and search for data and resources that take a bit more digging to uncover, but are likely to be the very things that will provide the biggest benefit.

Those people who know me know that I think it is ultimately a major task… this keeping the hope of healing alive in our hearts. We must do it. Our health depends on us getting this right and not giving in to the temptation of spending most of our time being negative or feeling terminally sorry for ourselves.

We are the ones who benefit from renewed bodies that once again remember how to be healthy, from minds that function clearly and wisely for the most part, and for spirits that are excited about the prospects of living a life closer to the Creator. Oh, to become a thrill seeker!

Yes, you and I do see the wisdom of keeping hope of healing alive in our hearts. However, the huge questions remain about how to do it.

How do we stay positive?
What is there to stay positive about?

ningxiared-1bottleWhen I’m considering how to get healthy and stay that way, I think how smart it is to include some of nature’s most perfect plants as part of my health regimen, namely Ningxia wolfberries. (That’s pronounced ning-sha.) For centuries, a superb quality Ningxia wolfberry product has been grown in the elbow-shaped plateau region of the Yellow River, Ningxia Hui, China. From ancient legend to modern miracle, this phenomenon now comes full circle today in the form of a fantastic product that the Young Living Corporation calls NingXia Red®.

NingXia Red is a naturally delicious wolfberry drink that is infused with essential nutrients. That means it energizes, fortifies and replenishes the very building blocks of health that your body instinctively wants and needs.

Rich in wide-spectrum antioxidant activity, NingXia Red contains the highest levels of naturally occurring, age-defying components. (*If offers the greatest protection against dangerous superoxide free radicals as documented in the S-ORAC test conducted by Brunswick Laboratories.) Through such antioxidant action, this powerful drink dynamically supports immune function and cardiovascular health, plus it nourishes the eyes.

The Ningxia wolfberry, the primary ingredient in NingXia Red, has been cherished for centuries in the orient for aiding a person’s health, energy and stamina, and longevity. Whole Ningxia wolfberries and other nutrient-dense fruit juices, like blueberry and pomegranate, make NingXia Red the perfect choice for optimizing wellness and allowing you to step up to a whole new level of health. This power drink also contains lemon and orange essential oils rich in the powerful antioxidant d-limonene to promote healthy liver function.

The NingXia Red Promise

In the NingXia Red product, Young Living combines the finest Ningxia wolfberries, a proprietary ingredient called “Nutrient-Guard” in the preparation, and other all-natural, nutrient-dense ingredients that together provide:

1) Dynamic energy and stamina without stimulants (e.g., without caffeine);

2) Key nutrients that fuel vital energy systems;

3) Unique protein-polysaccharides that help sustain proper immune function;

4) Highest levels of naturally occurring, age defying activity components (e.g. “anti” free radicals);

5) Great taste, high quality, non-sugary (as opposed to lower quality juices that may be sweetened with high-fructose corn syrup, sugar or artificial sweeteners);

I find the taste of Ningxia Red really real and pleasant. It wakes up my mouth, tongue and lips. After my daily dose, I feel like I’ve done something special for my health for the whole day through. :-) Now… I need to be totally transparent and tell you that I’m only in the elementary stage of using Ningxia Red. Yet, I already feel stronger and have more energy and stamina. My body is loving it! And right here in the middle of flu season, being healthy is a blessing. I’m counting on Ningxia Red and the other Young Living products to continue to bolster my immune system.

6) Essential nutrients in NingXia Red also support the following: normal cardiovascular function, normal eye health, normal cell growth, and healthy liver function. I’m betting that each one of those categories is high on your list.

*KEY FACT: The Ningxia wolfberry is one of only a handful of legimately, documented super foods. People with immune system irregularities and chronic health problems need exactly this kind of health boost if they want to feel better.

I invite you to watch two great videos below. They explain the history and use of Ningxia wolfberries and how Ningxia Red might help you to jumpstart your health. Enjoy and daydream about feeling really well… .
