Ampligen, Hemispherx and CFS: The News Isn’t So Good

by Cinda Crawford on December 2, 2009

in Announcements, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, What do you do if you're really sick?

ampligenUnfortunately the news about the possibility of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome suffers (CFS, ME/CFS) is not good when it comes to the much anticipated approval of Ampligen, a drug therapy in the FDA approval process for Hemispherx Biopharma Inc.

‘The agency’s medical reviewers concluded that the two clinical studies of Ampligen submitted by Hemispherx “did not provide credible evidence of efficacy,” according to the company.’

I could give you a lot of data on Ampligen and Hemispherx -or- you could search on this website for previous posts I’ve written -or- you can read this newest news article for yourself.

I know that many of you with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome were hoping that Ampligen would be a new, figuratively life-saving drug for you. And I say figuratively because, as you know, it doesn’t make that claim to cure what ails a person with CFS or ME/CFS. But… for so long, it gave you great hope that upon it’s arrival into the marketplace, it really would help you get your life back!

It doesn’t look like that will happen. The FDA is not approving Hemispherx Biopharma’s drug application for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome right now. Here’s a second news article that will explain their findings even more.

I encourage you, please don’t be too disappointed. This has been many years coming. The complete story of how to heal CFS or ME/CFS has not been written yet.
